Just had a spare 20 mins, so thought I'd have a go at cleaning my exhaust pipes up. They looked pretty bad, still not great.

 

How would you go about removing that black stuff inside?

I was thinking the wire brush attachment on the dremel??

I would use something to try and break up the carbon deposits like paint thinner or tar and glue remover. I'd start small with a scouring pad rather than go straight for the wire brush attachment. You don't wanna scratch the insides to bits but you may have to in the end...

Yeah I used brasso and a scouring pad, let the brasso soak in first the scrub like hell.

It's a filthy job so wear gloves, unless you don't want to be able to touch your mrs for a month :p

I used autosol to make it look like this.

 

I'll try again another day with a scourer &a some metal polish.

 

Ha yea, I had gloves on - wouldn't want to upset the mrs!
