I imagine people are randomly picked, ring and ask mate, better than 3 points its just a 3hr classroom job, guy from the adavanced motorists talks about speed limits and how you should alter your speed to suit the enviroment, weather etc Quote

Chris`I Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 trouble is................. i got 9 points now................. il have to wave good bye to my bike training liscence also the zed will have to go too.......!! Sounds pretty terminal mate, with 9 points already, they aint going to give you the option of the course. I know you dont want to hear it but with 9 points you should have been driving like a granny in residential areas. Quote

Beavis Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 I assume that this is the Welsh police Stuey? Arrive Alive? If it is you have no chance. Was done a few years ago in LLangollen whilst driving like a granny. I had 9 points on my licence too but back down to 6 now. But even if you get 12 points it does not always mean a ban, you will need a good breif like Tim said, or say someone else was driving who as no points. Quote

He is a "Loop Hole" master! Quote
Andy Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Stuey, like I said when I met you, I was caught a few years back doing over a tonne on the M25 and got off with only a two week ban by pleading guilty but then got a strongly worded letter from my MD saying I would loose my licence if I got banned, worked for me so it's probably the only thing I could positivley recommend. Have they set a court date or any paperwork so far? Quote
GIXXERUK Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 i think you need to double check the dates and make YOU were driving mate iirc correctly the going rate was £50 a point in the local pubs in buckley - thats not a joke ! Quote
Sarnie Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 The best bet is getting someone else to take the points for you. I got done on the M6 at over 100mph on my way to the NW run in 2006. i got a 42 day ban reduced to 21 as I pleaded guilty at the outset. Unless you have a young family pleading that you need your license holds no weight unfortunately, they just take the view that if its that important to you you shouldn't of been speeding. Surely you know someone who will take the hit for you. Preferably someone with 0 points as the first three points do not affect your insurance premium. Quote
Andy Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Surely if it was a van, the photo would be at windscreen height, clearly id'ing the driver? Could be more problems if Stuey looked into who was driving at the time? Quote
