As the title says, the Z is due for the first MOT while i've owned her.

I recall reading I should make the test center aware of not testing rear brakes on a roller due to the diff is this correct ?

Are there any other little quirks I need to be aware of or inform the testers of ?

Thanks in advance

Every test station should have a 'decelerometer' to test permernant 4WD vehicles or anything that would cause damage by testing the brakes in the roller brake tester. So just mention that it has an LSD to the, and all should be good :)

If you have any doubts about any failure items, the M.O.T testing manual is available to everyone online.

Good luck!

Thanks guys,

Another quick one. I have the bog standard touring 18s. I need new rubber. Can I go with 235/40/18s and 255/40/18's over the 225/45 and 245/45 ?

Course you can on the tyre front, however why would you want too?

Was just pondering a little more width on them. But having looked at the tyre calculator, its not worth it. The difference isn't worth the faffing.

Quick update:

MOT sailed through, no advisories.

After a few days of the RS3's wow, these things grip for days not had chance to push them in the wet yet but the dry grip is incredible compared to the worn out old ditch finders. Can't wait for these to be fully scrubbed up and at their optimum.
