Dirty throttle body

Hi everyone

I was fitting my airbox mod this evening and relised that my throttle body was covered

In what I can only assume as carbon.

Is this normal?

Would a catch can help?

Clean it out, the butterfly goes in at the top so if you push on top from behind it wont move when cleaning. However to clean properly you will need to move the butterfly.

To add to this ^ make sure the ignition is off and you need to use a spray of carb cleaner for best results.

And yes, it is normal.

As above, plus best to disconnect multi plug, battery and ECU before you move the butterfly.
