So on the way home today, changing into 3rd only doing about 35, my shift snapped. To say i pooped myself is an understatement. I never actually installed this in the car and it was already in when i bought it. It looks like a japspeed one but i'm not sure. I presume I will have to buy a new short shift, or is this repairable? And has this happened to anyone before?

Could be that yours is a cheap eBay copy of the "Japspeed" (which is a cheap copy of the B&M version) one which is why it's snapped?!

I've not heard of this happening before but I'm sure it's happened to someone before. I guess if you want to keep it like it was then your only option is to buy a new short shifter kit and fit that. Just don't get it off eBay.

Torqen have a good selection of quality shifters here: https://www.torqen.uk/152-short-shifters

I once had the gearstick in an old Fiat Uno snap on me.

Late at night... on the moors... with a "lady friend" in the car... and looooong before the advent of mobile phones too...

That fairly killed any passion that was building, let me tell ya!

I had little Google about and ended up getting an oem one off ebay for £40. I'll look at replacing that after Xmas again maybe. I just couldn't believe it. For it to just sheer like that is mad

Heard of this happening before with the cheap eBay tat. I never really understood people fitting short shifters to 350's because it's very short as it is, especially with a Nismo knob.
