dbass Posted November 26, 2016 Share Posted November 26, 2016 Hi, The check engine light on my 350z has come on, it's not flashing, just constantly on. The car is modified but that was all done a while back. The car seems to be running ok. Has anyone else had experience with this? Is it ok to continue to drive it? What do you think? HEADPHONES Posted November 26, 2016 Share Posted November 26, 2016 Just try the reset after pulling the codes as sometimes the ecu just throws a wobbler and a reset sorts it. Happened twice to me over my 12 yrs ownership. A stop watch or an analog clock with a second?s needle will be useful. ECU Resetting Procedures Timing is extremely critical. If it is NOT DONE within the specify time, the ECU will not reset and the Check Engine Light (CEL) will continue to remain ON. A stop watch or an analog clock with a second?s needle will be useful. Operations Procedures 1. Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch ?ON? and wait 3 seconds. 2. Repeat the following steps (2a and 2b) procedures quickly five times within 5 seconds. 2a. Fully depress the accelerator pedal (HARD). 2b. Fully release the accelerator pedal. 3. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 10 seconds until the CEL starts blinking. 4. Fully release the accelerator pedal (while the CEL is still blinking) 5. Wait about 10 second. 6. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for more than 10 seconds. 7. Fully release the accelerator pedal (The CEL light will continue to blink). 8. Turn ignition switch to ?OFF? position and now you can start the car. The CEL light should be gone. If the CEL light continues to remain ON, repeat the above steps. HEADPHONES Posted November 26, 2016 Share Posted November 26, 2016 If the ecu is showing up O2 sensor fault I'd clear it and leave it if everything is fine and it doesn't light up again. Both times mine lit up it was the same thing. The first time I went to the garage to double check. Just put it down to a minor blip in the system because the car is running sweet as ever. Full cobra exhaust with cobra HFC's, plenum spacer, K&n panel filter. No remap. secretstar07979 Posted November 28, 2016 Share Posted November 28, 2016 I have the same fault on mine. It's down to my aftermarket exhaust which next year I plan to change to a cobra. I've had it knocked off a couple of times but it keeps coming back on so I'm just gonnna live with it till I have the exhaust changed. Hopefully that should sort it.
