Diesel vs. 97 Unleaded

Did a comparison today..I run a courier company & had a call from a client this morning to deliver a machine bearing ..from Redditch to Newport docks..round trip approx. 190 miles.

Decided to take my 370 for a blast along M50 & A449/40 rather than one of our Citroen Relay vans..uuugghhh.

Guess what ..used exactly the same amount of fuel in 370 as i would in van,& that's comparing 97 unleaded to dirty diesel..Here's a pic of my economical driving & old man tunes.

I'll be honest when i got on A46 Evesham to Studley on the way home ....i booted it for 10 miles & got 19mpg..but it was enjoyable

Fuel warning , zero miles left in tank , hence the steady dfiving

Currently averaging 25.9mpg...in the citroen relay work van. It does lug a lot of tools etc though.

 

Still, that's not a lot more than the average in my 350!

According to the onboard computer thingies the wife`s diesel Mokka manages just over twice as much on the average fuel consumption as the 370.....

I get about 60+ mpg from my insignia but in the 20's in my 350Z but 1 is a diesel and 1 is a 3.5 v6 no comparison really! 🙂

Not bad going. I used to average 26mpg in my zed on my daily 90 mile commute into work. Id get 65mpg out of my Golf GT TDI and 58mpg out of the wifes old Peugeot 307HDI on the same commute.
