Black bar above mirror.

Hi all, spent some time looking and can't find an answer.

 

Taking my roof lining out, to replace the sunglasses holder, I've come across a black bar that was stuck to the windscreen. Or rather fallin off the windscreen.

 

I would add pics, but I'm on my mobile and tapatalk won't allow me to post...

 

Does anyone know what it is? And what it does? Thanks!

Definitely looks like one of those GSM aerials.

Not to bring this back but did anyone confirm? The hands free kit in the cubby seems to link your phone via bluetooth which I assume​ is within the module itself so what purpose does this box serve? I'm tempted to remove it and put my gps antenna here!

There is a mic within the dome light I think although the manual says the mic is actually in the drivers lower dash which I find weird!

Well it's gone! Whatever it is its an aerial, it's a single cable. I unclipped it down the drivers pillar and ill remove the rest later, I mounted my gps aerial in its place, look like stock!
