bod_bod Posted June 20, 2016 Share Posted June 20, 2016 Hi all, I'm looking to upgrade the front and rear brakes on my 53 plate, base spec import 350z. Its currently running the non brembo brake setup and the callipers are all starting to seize. Ideally looking to have 6 pot callipers on the front and 4 on the rears. Ive been looking at few kits k sport, pb etc. Just looking for some advice on what other people are running and what everyone would recomend before i go spending my money. Better Stoptech discs and Hawk pads for instance will do perfectly. Alternatively, find an used set of 350z GT Brembo brakes and replace the pads, discs and lines. Tinyflier Posted June 20, 2016 Share Posted June 20, 2016 I totally agree that a standard Brembo calliper set up is perfectly adequate (as Adrian said Stoptech and Hawke is a great combo) BUT slipping on a Torqen monster kit brings an added dimension to the phrase "stop on a sixpence!" But if it will save me a hell of a lot of money which could be spend else where then i will take your advice and hunt for some brembo's. I ran my supercharged (436Bhp) 350Z on the standard Brembos and I had no issues stopping ~ the set up was: Motul RBF600 brake fluid Goodridge Stainless steel brake lines EBC Turbo Groove brake discs Ferodo DS2500 brake pads It also went on track so for fast road you'll be fine with a similar set up imo. djtimo Posted June 20, 2016 Share Posted June 20, 2016 Over all power for stopping is mainly down to pad friction and tire grip.
