gushie Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Just had 2 new front tyres fitted, got interesting drive now and I can't fiugure out why. I now drift to the lest quite prominently if I let go of the steering, also on motorway at 50mph and over I get a wicked wobble through the steering. Tyres have been re-balanced 2x with no joy, it's going in for a 4 wheel alignment check tomorrow at my regular servicing garage to have investigative surgery. Drift could be alignment but why the steering wobble with newly balanced tyres, neither happended with the old Potenza's. New tyres are Devanti DX460's I know they not the best tyres but did it as a test for my local tyre dealer; i'm kind of evaluating them for him. Any ideas people? Jeff Quote
davey_83 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 (edited) tyre pressures...... for the pulling wheel wobble after the wheels/tyres have been re balanced......... wheel bolts not done up evenly Edited March 7, 2016 by davey_83 Quote
Ekona Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Did they have to knock the wheel to get it off? They can stick to the hubs, so often need a clout to free them up which could've knocked your geometry. That wouldn't account for all your issues, however. Wait for the alignment results. Quote
gushie Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 I checked the tyre pressures myself all at 35psi as recommended. Nope no clouting went on I watched them change them, i'll let you know what garage says. I am wondering whether the Davanti's are not rounded off properly with being a cheaper tyre. Quote
brillomaster Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 better hope its the alignment, although symptoms starting after fitting new tyres would suggest its the tyres. I don't believe in coincidences. Quote
Ebized Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Hmmmm..... alignment sounds the right action, and given I presume you had the work done mentioned here: http://www.350z-uk.c...ar-control-arm/ Just makes me wonder whether something is not right with the suspension on that side, so hopefully your regular garage will spot any issues Quote
MJC Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Take both wheels off and thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the hub and wheel. Quote
gushie Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 Tyres were completely unbalanced and tracking out. Quote
Ekona Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Probably a good idea to ditch your local tyre dealer. If they can't even balance a wheel after two attempts... Quote
