Advice on battery recondition charge

Recommended Posts

Afternoon,

after some advice.

I'm looking into doing a battery recondition charge on my original 2008 battery as it's showing signs of age.

To do this I will be disconnecting the battery from the car for about 24-36 hours (estimated time to complete cycle)

Will I run into any issues with the alarm, or any other systems on the car having it disconnected for this amount of time?

Thanks in advance

Personally I would be replacing a 7 year old battery, what do you mean by recondition charge, if its not holding a charge then it needs changing, if its already playing up you can bet money you will be replacing it as soon as the cold weather arrives,

You shouldn't have any issues with the alarm or anything else.

I have the charger already from a family member. Thought it was worth a try as it's not costing me anything to potentially get the battery through this winter.

Deffo go for a new battery. I have gone down the route of trying to keep an ageing old friend going on and on and on. The worst possible time you can imagine, it will let you down.
