  1. Looks good mate. Years ago I polished the cover on 106 GTI using one of these; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-BUFFING-POLISHI ... 240%3A1318 I attached it to a regular hand drill and I got a mirror finish You need to apply a really light touch if you're using a high rpm drill. It's worth a go for 7 quid... In fact 'click' I've just bought one
  2. +1 This sounds like a really interesting project, it would be great to see this documented on the forum
  3. That sounds quite expensive buddy. Have a read of Pingu's thread regarding the Haltech; viewtopic.php?f=25&t=20407 Matt
  4. Thanks Guys, My ones are the EX ESR stock - not Samco, but look exactly the same. I think I will get the samco hose clamps for peace of mind Jim - Yes I did bleed the system, I put the front on axle stands as I was using a large bucket. If you had a tray or something more suitable to collect to the coolant the axle stands would not be required. I also found it easier to attack the lower hose from under the car but this will mean removing the plastic tray under the engine. I hope that helps!
  5. Hi Guys, I had some fun and games fitting my aftermarket coolant hoses at the weekend…. When fitting the new hoses I discovered that the aftermarket ones are thicker than the Nissan ones (i.e. the internal diameters are the same but the external diameters are slightly greater). I didn’t think this would be a problem…. So, before I clamped the new hoses in place I performed a 'trial fit’ to the various radiator and engine mounts and they fit perfectly. When I tried to use the OEM hose clamps I had to fully compress them and use plenty of WD40 (and cursing) to get the clamps on the new (thicker) hoses. Sadly the internal diameters of the new hoses were compromised (by the OEM clips) and would no longer fit over the engine / radiator mounts. I tried using mole grips to fully compress the clips but the inside of the new hoses were visibly out of shape. Covered in grim at about 3pm on Sunday I took the bus to my nearest Halfords and bought some jubilee clips to mount the hoses. The three pipes are now fitted (and on nice and tight) but I'm worried about the pressure blowing a hose off... Has anyone else fitted aftermarket hoses and how was the fit? Do you think the jubilee clips will do the job?? Thanks, Matt
  6. Try MJP, http://www.mjpauto.com/ Their site is a bit basic but they're very helpful and can usually source Nissan parts at a discount. Matt.
  7. +1, really nice looking Z buddy. I don't usually like gold wheels but they really suit your car
  8. This post is also useful; http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19516 It is possible to remove the bumper without removing wheels (see the post from Beavis) but it's a tight fit. If you have the space I would remove the wheels... It's quite simple, even for someone like me who sits in an office all day
  9. People 'in the know' would notice the best mods in my opinion.
  10. Ings for me buddy, it looks good on the Sunset especially with the splash guards. I think the V2 might look a bit much without a kit etc... Just my 2 pence worth though...
  11. It does look like one of those dodgy kits you would find in the back max power
  12. Hey Jim / T2, I've thought about doing this too (and removing the dimples) but I don't fancy taking wet and dry to my dashboard It might be easier to buy a cheap dash kit like this one and paint that?? Just a thought... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2003-2004-2005-NI ... 240%3A1318 Matt
  13. Or grab some of these http://www.jdmperformance.co.uk/item_de ... odID=52189
  14. If you want rid of it I'm happy to take it off your hands
  15. Thanks Stew, that's exactly what I'm after. Ebay here I come
  16. Hi all, What is difference between all these products? I use a hose to rinse my car (not a pressure washer) and I want something to create a good foam on my car between the rinse and washing stage. I have good tap pressure outside but my water is hard. What would you recommend? Ta, Matt
  17. The new 350z-uk.com, for the visually impaired Best I read the FAQ's! Good luck with the aircon... I've also heard you should blast it through a few times in the winter to 'clear it out' so to speak. Cheers, Matt
  18. ahh, I seem to have totalled cocked my profile
  19. Hi mate, A few guys (including myself) have used this; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AIR-CON-CLEANER-C ... 240%3A1318 Still about 10 quid but it does the job Matt
  20. Hi Ian, The vinyl I have is not reflective but you can basically apply whatever you like so you could have luminous yellow if you like! When I bought the wheels I run the vote for the red lip and you were right, I should have gone for the lip I think the vinyl looks good though, Chris said it would last well too as long as you don't use a pressure washer on the wheels.. Matt
  21. Hi guys, I thought I would be the guinea pig and try one of Adam’s suspension packages from Z1 Auto. After speaking to Adam I decided to go for the Hotchkis springs and swaybars. I then realised that I would need some adjustment on the rear toe and camber so I gave CS a buzz and ordered the Eibach kit. Both suppliers were fantastic with quick delivery; I will certainly use them both in the future. Once everything was fitted I took a drive to DMS (http://www.dmsracingltd.co.uk/index.php) to get my geometry set up correctly. The guys at DMS (Dixon, Ryan and Raymond) were fantastic and made us really welcome. DMS are open on Saturdays and Sundays so very convenient for those who are busy during the week… These guys love their cars! Once DMS had checked and adjusted my geometry I took the car for a blast in the afternoon sun and it felt fantastic. It was one of those crisp days when it feels like you have another 50 bhp! The car rides really well on the Hotchkis set up. The steering is a touch sharper and the body roll is certainly reduced but it’s still comfortable and fine over speed bumps etc. I've only covered 20 miles so I sure it will get better as it settles down and I re learn the car. This thread would be worthless without pics so attached is a few pictures of my Zed and friend’s type R, enjoy! A few pictures are from DMS hence the number plates being blanked. 22. Thanks everyone, as I say drop Chris a note if you're interested. He has the template for 18"s now
  23. Tell me about it Chris, I bought my wheels in October and drove to Paris at Christmas.... I entered what seemed like a normal underground carpark until I realised it had those terrible brick tracks about 5ft wide. My Rota's have a few war wounds now!!! I've only had them 5 minutes :-(
  24. Hi Chaps, It's 'our' first year’s anniversary today. 1 year of V6 bliss! Last week a good friend of mine who is a member (CFOSTER) fitted some red lips to my rota's. I've added some before and after shots to my photobucket account so check them out... The photos do the car no justice, the lip looks much better in the flesh... I guess I'm not cut out for photography! And by the way, Chris (CFOSTER) can offer this service to members and fit them in if you're interested. He has lots of colours and can offer all kinds of vinyl so drop him a PM. http://s484.photobucket.com/albums/rr20 ... ch%202009/ Cheers, Matt
