  1. You should have a look at the supplier sites for info as well as the forums. For instance, about three years ago Hitachi were the only company using soft/hardware designed specifically for LCD/plasma TVs, every other company used the internals from standard sets and the visual difference was like night and day. Even the top range Sonys and Panasonics (both 100hz, picture enhancers etc..) looked S%!* by comparison, thats not even taking into account the shops NEVER set up any colour/contrast or brightness settings to give the best picture possible.

Remember to leave about 10% of your budget for cables as the picture/sound is only as good as whats being fed into the set.

After all you wouldn't put standard asda petrol in the Zed?

The cables don't matter as long as its HDMI, ebay cables are as good as monster gold plated ones, picture and sound wise at least :)

Now audo cabling is a different story

  2. As usual we have the usual suspects who instead of contributing in constructive argument feel inadequate and the need resort to hot air and name calling

The OP questions was of a subjective nature infering sharing of ideas about the "best mod for money". ultimately the choice or correct answer will be borne of personal circumstance or budget from all info gained.

What mods or tuning route for the zed has been covered to death here ir in the US and is not a mystery anymore. I have a lot of respect for some of the tuners here and will go by their recomendation anyday. But as mentioned before it is obvious that some of us here cannot appreciate what is being asked or show respect for fellow forum members. Please do grow up chaps

If that was aimed at me Bennet I appologise but I was only having a laugh as you have probably put the most info into this thread. :blackeye:

  3. remap will bring the car alive

add in any mods with it you want for extra noise/bhp before hand if you want to.

and then spend your cash on driver training, will make the most out of the car. most people don't use most of the cars potential and think the answer is more power. learn to drive it properly and you could shave seconds off lap times; more than most power mod. and you'll have great fun learning it all at the same time.

for out and out gains FI is the only way forward Most NA mods will be more for noise than for go. they'll make a slight difference but you'll spend thousands for very little oomph.

the remap will bring out the biggest change in feel for the least amount of cash. go see abbey they know what they're talking about and they tune not just lizards track car but many others as well. they know more about car and track setups for cars than any average joe weekend track warrior and won't disappoint.

    +1

Some questions are best just asked directly to the trusted tuning companies. When thrown out into the air like this you get a lot of folk putting their 2 cents in, albeit there may be some good information, but it only causes to crowd out the experienced advice of the tuners themselves who do this type of work day in day out and know it works, otherwise their business would be a failure and they wouldn't have such a good reputation amongst this community.

Pointed at GT4ZED mainly, 5 pages of unnecessary shyte.

    Corrected :thumbs::p

  4. Thanks for the idea's guys, going to go through them today to see whats what.

We're going to the Loire valley and then stopping off in Normandy on the way back. Think the Loire is central and meant to be very nice. We booked last year when we got back from our last holiday as good campsites book up quick. Have a google for French campsites. Look at the pics. And then search to see if any reviews are about. Sites linked wiu places like eurocamp and other places tend to ne good. Just. A research job.

Loire Valley is a bit further than I wanted to go, puts about an extra 800-1000 miles to the journey I was thinking off which is a fair wack in petrol!

not thought of the eurocamp places before as I thought they had a reputation for being a bit rowdy - I'll check them out as well.

Eurocamp are far from it mate, very family orientated.

  5. Frankly the best mod for sensible money is a the D1 controller followed remap +/- supporting mods :p

The next logical step is a full forged NA tune or FI depending on your chosen goals/use as cost will be similar in the end :surrender:

Or buy a more powerful car ;)

I really don't think NOS can be considered seriously as a longterm viable mod or value for money ;) and as such i've never been though i appreciate Wasso's efforts and determination to be different B)

If you consider ~280WHP the limit with a remap, supporting NA mods and the luck of a strong engine to begin with then 309WHP acheived by Wasso with 75 NOS shot represents only a 29WHP gain while it will cost similar to setup a basic SC kit :teeth:

In real terms its more like 30-40WHP gain since the best NA zeds here are running between 270-274WHP(with he exception of Greekman who has modded his VQ35HR )

If you get a propper remap you can totally disregard the D1 controller  The remap sharpens up the throttle AND removes the limit from the 1st and 2nd.
