Been thinking about it, I work from home so really don't use a car other than for pleasure, Bronco would be good for the off road potential and the winter. Going to wait and see one in the flesh and get some reports from owners. Last thing I want is another car with a leaky roof that can't be fixed like my wrangler I had. Nothing worse then getting in a damp car the whole year round.

We looked at Wranglers a few years ago love the look but never got one. So expensive even older ones. Keep us posted about the Bronco. Looks fab @ATTAK Z number 1 son did a good job.

  3. A little random I know but, there are plenty more people on here with better eye sight and probably more patience than me, right now!

Before Christmas we had a very large pine cut down. I love trees but this one was always very much hated. It made the whole side of the house dark, nothing grew underneath and you can't even open the windows upstairs before the local fly population would jump off its branches and pay you a visit, maybe that was my aftershave I don't know anyway I digress!

How many rings can you see in this picture? I recon about 70 but after 3 attempts I gave up.

My house is from 1916. I can't see any dark pollution on those rings yet on the oak and ash nearby it quite plain to see?

Btw I live on the outskirts of an old Northern Mill town (cracking toast Gromit) so I would have expected some pollution?

I hate you guys - you've got me looking at £30K Arnages now  :surrender:

    Sorry....

........his is actually for sale. If there is one thing I will say about him, I found someone who is more anal about cars than me! It's the cleanest car on the planet and whatever it needs it gets  sell sell sell.

Cayman or an M2 C/CS next for me I think, very tempted to take a GR Yaris for a spin but doubt I could live with it.
Was chatting to a mate who adores his F Type the other day and since driving one I think everyone should own a 6.2 V8 Merc of some variety at some point, they are hilarious

Or a Bentley of course .............

A friend of mine has a Mulsanne, Arnage and classic Mk6 Bentley. I have driven all of them. If you want something that can move the gravitational pull of nearby planets the Mulsanne is the car to go for, if on the other hand you want to go a little Gangster style and pull the pants down of most cars on the road even today the Arnage! Sheesh that car is a really a beast in a suit! :drive1 A lot cheaper than the new stuff but don't look at the fuel gauge!

Yeah I hear you, I am waiting to see how much the Mach1 is.... then if it’s near C8 money I would rather the C8..... but then again I like off roading... bronco also on a list

Are you looking at getting a new Bronco? I have been keeping an eye on those from the start - love the look, hopefully they will build RHD eventually?

  7. No Chris noooooooooooo don't sell the Stang!  :surrender:  I hope to hold onto mine as long as I can afford to (it's partly your fault I got one in the first place!

On the other hand Lucy loves her M2 and would recommend that as a good all rounder.

Nothing similar apart from both being coupes fella

I do think they have similar side profile (ignoring the zeds chrome flash thing) similar rear arch, and front light treatment. I expect they will change the grill as people have mentioned for the American market?

hmm the Renault techie reckons it can happen but unlikely. Some main dealers have imported cars unofficially in the past

I just wonder if its depending on things like interest locally. UK are still part of the paris agreement. If anything sales of leafs and micras may stay the same. Nissan need to probably sell as much as Tesla for that to be possible.

Possible if only they had a saloon design like Sony or Tesla for the leaf and call it a Leaf XL or something.

Oh yeah and Nissan UK boss and someone in Government can make it happen maybe but business case isnt really there

Ok so it's the waiting game then. Pandemic first, post Brexit shakedown, wait until about 2029 for a grey import.

I do find Nissan and Infiniti quite silly sometimes. Infiniti did sod all to advertise came in spent a fortune then left with nothing surprised they were not an instant hit?

When Nissan decided to release the Cube in the UK, they went to the trouble of spending a fortune tarting it up as apparently we like our luxurious cars here? The Cube was hot Japanese stuff, we wanted it, again no adverts no nothing and they were surprised it never really sold, although it took off on the second hand market. We had one for a while and loved it.

When they have something that is a well known model like the zed in their line up that is different to the usual run of the mill German suspects, they don't consider it?

    Shame.

  10. Now we are technically EU free, didn't we make a trade deal with Japan?

Are we keeping EU emissions for the time being or am I being naive? If not worth writing off to Mr and Mrs Nissan, ask them to send a few Zed-pees this way? :D

    Hi good peoples,
Just a little about myself as an introduction. In my younger days I used to race a bit of motocross. I've always liked motorsports, and like most of us here, a bit of a rev head.  I currently have a Clubman GoKart, and a 2012 370Z. My friends nicknamed me 'Diesel' as I always had the dirtiest, rough looking vehicles, but they always went well and reliable. These days I'm semi-retired (63 y.o.) and my 370Z is my second car. I mostly take it out on week-ends, and do the occasional track day.
I notice that even though this is an Introductions area, that a lot of people seem to ask questions here so I'll do like wise.
I recently installed a Z1-Motorsports Oil Cooler to my 370Z. I had a bit of trouble getting the hoses onto the sandwich plate, but generally went well. One thing puzzled me though was this: on all the videos I watched before doing this, the only thing they mentioned being attached to the bumper bar were the running lights. My car being a 2012 doesn't have these, so I was expecting just to pull the bumper off and walk away with it. I found there were lots of stuff connected to my bumper. There were 3 connections that looked like sensors, and 2 water connections to the washer bottle. I later found out that the 3 sensors were part of the airbag system. The connections to the washer bottle seem to be something to do with headlight cleaning.
After putting it all back together, I had the hood warning light flashing at me. After some research, I found it was somehow connected to the airbag system, and taking the bumper off had triggered it. I also found that by performing a Reset using the Turn Ignition On and Off procedure fixed this.
I suppose I have two queries if anyone can illuminate.
Is my car somehow unique in having all this stuff attached to the bumper (not mentioned in any videos)?
Does anyone know how the headlight washers work? The hoses just seem to run up to the inside of the bumper and end there?

    Merry Christmas to all.
    Cheers, Diesel.

    :welcome: to the club.

Can't help with the questions unfortunately but plenty of geeks on here that know the cars well.

    Merry Christmas

Well, it kinda makes sense. Apple are one of (if not the) the most desirable brands in the world, and they’re used to buying in knowledge when required. Their expertise always used to be software and the customer experience rather than hardware, so moving into EVs where it’s not about a beautiful engine or nuanced handling but rather more how simple and integrated the package is could work.

That said, it’s a million miles off if ever. Potentially a better avenue for them would be to supply the software that drives the car, both literally and figuratively. Imagine an interface for the entertainment/drive modes with the elegant simplicity that Apple are known for: that would be worth looking at.

I have to agree, stick with what you are good at. Leave the car building to companies that have done it. Although sometimes a clean sheet approach can work but physics is physics. With over a 100 years of car development these companies know what they are doing.

Either way like Tesla I can't afford their prices.

  13. I was reading about an experiment the boffins at Oxford Uni did to convert CO2, Hydrogen and some iron into synthetic jet fuel, which sounds pretty impressive and promising. But Jet fuel is kind of refined diesel, soooo if they can do it for jets why not create clean diesel and we can continue to use oil burners without the enviro worry? Looking at it through my simple rose coloured glasses.

    https://www.wired.com/story/could-carbon-dioxide-be-turned-into-jet-fuel/

What do you think? An alternative to EV's especially as 99% of freight and passengers are still powered by diesel engines?

An Apple car? Oh ffs the range on that will be about 5 miles and it will no doubt go back to a 1980s inspired slab sided look, just like the phones!

Move over Bentley your cars will be on the cheap isle compared to Apple.

Why do these electronics companies think they can diversify into totally the other end of the scale? You don't see Hotpoint washing machines making cars do you? Mind you if they did the cars would really be on fire!! (see what I did there?)  Ok ignore the large Korean brands that do make white goods and cars. :D

I hate to admit it but its definitely growing on me. The more I see the more I like with its styling, however this is more then likely because its a retro style with modern flare, which I'm a sucker for. Especially found of the 300zx rear tail light style. Yes, im one of those people who love old style with modern technology

The one big no no for me though, and nearly all modern manufacturers do this is the multi coloured body panels, or two tone in this case yellow with black and chrome roof :yuck: If possible I'd want one colour coded all one colour. Why manufacturers decide this looks good will never, ever make sense to me

That chrome flashe on the roof are just the designers trying to be fancy emphasizing the shape I expect?

On the Ford Mach e where they have the top roof section in black to make it look lower than it is, so clever optical illusion but the chrome flash on Zed-pee is a bit naff I have to agree.

Like you I love the retro look/feel hence why I drive a 2018 Stang, but I am a genuine classic car man too.

On my RX8 there were alloy rotary emblems all over, the only one I liked was the rear central fog light in that shape, which was cool the rest a bit pants.

Let's wait until 2023 when we might see them appear as urine yellow imports.
