its fine at idle. Of course its Fly-by-wire. DOH !!!!! I forgot that...... well, whatever it is, the symptoms are like a sticking throttle

I`ve noticed this happens all the time, if I`m accelerating, press clutch pedal to change gear and lift off accelerator, change gear and as i`m releasing the clutch, the engine revs havent fallen. Its just as if the throttle cable is sticking slightly. Its more noticeable when accelerating through the gears hard, my passenger commented the other day and asked why I wasnt lifting off when changing gear !. I told them to watch my feet and they saw I was lifting my foot clear from the accelerator but the revs didnt drop Is this normal or something on my car? (06 model) tried searching but had no hits for `sticking throttle`...

I drive it as you are supposed to drive a RWD 290 HP car ! The engine note alone makes it worth while. Seriously though, I do take care in the wet, I had the back end break traction exiting a roundabout in 3rd which was interesting. However, I dont really throw the car around on the public roads. Track days are best for that and I have a dedicated track car to get my speed `fix`. I just like driving the Zed steadily most of the time, but when there is a tunnel, slow down, drop it a few gears and nail it

Thats very useful info, thank you. I`ll try and get some kind of film then. I have put some black insulation tape over to see what they look like, I think they are better than bright orange, so I`ll definately be doing something.

Thanks for the info. I`d read up about it and saw it was a bumper off job. That in itself isnt an issue, but i`d be interested to see if anyone has put tinted film on theirs, if I can get away with that but it still looks good, I`ll try that. i`d go for 04. 05 will age the car in a few years anyway... at least if it says 04, you`d know it was a gt4 and thats why you had that plate. Just my 2 pence

I am wanting to change the front bumper reflectors with either smoked ones or some sort of black mesh ones (if they exist). I have seen the smoked reflectors on ebay, but I cant seem to find any photos of cars with any fitted. If anyone has any pics, or links to a thread (i`ve tried searching !), I`d appreciate it. They will be going on a Black Zed.

Just wanted to add thanks for this thread, I was unsure what engine was in my 06 Roadster, but as it has the revised interior, I`m guessing its the 296HP version. Not that it makes the slightest difference, I have bought the car already, but its always nice to know.

Yes same camera, different times of day but I dont know why its so different either . I didnt think I`d changed anything but obviously something is different..

The only other thing I`m planning on doing is possibly changing the front bumper reflectors, I dont like the orange ones. seen some black oney on ebay, £26 delivered from the US, I`ve had a search and there dont seem to be many photos of different options on here. I`ll keep looking.....

Used a PC, Menzerna polish variety of pads and Zaino Z2 Pro, Z5 and Z8. My other car is Black too, so I knew what I was letting myself into, but it just looks so good when clean that I think its worth the effort.

BOTH Sometimes it happens when i`m not really expecting it, but only very occasionally, the roads are pretty bad at this time of year which doesnt help, me wanting to hear the engine note and putting my foot down may be another contributing factor too I know the tyres are poor, I had them on my Mazda 6 (RE050`s), they were the same, i`ve got Eagle F1`s on that now and they are far better. I`ll change them when they are worn out, cant really justify changing them for the sake of it right now.

After having it for a few days, I`ve found a few things I really like and a few i`d prefer to change. PLUS. The engine noise, its just fabulous Ride, suprisingly supple and comfortable considering how well it handles Back steps out with little provocation allowing small drifts at the exit of most roundabouts before the electronics kick in Quiet when cruising Heated leather seats It looks great with the roof down (IMO) Great stereo Economy as expected, which considering my heavy right foot was pleasing MINUS Non reach adjustable steering Seat seems a little too high for me and wont lower enough (i`m 6`1") Tyres are poor, break away far too easily, but I understand everyone says this with the stock Bridgestones. Some will appreciate this, others may think I wasted a day, I think it looks far better and was worth the time : I`ve taken several before and after photos, tried to get the same angle / lighting but its not easy. The roof was up on the first ones too so they are different because of that, but I think you still get the idea. As with most cars washed with a sponge (black especially), the paintwork was covered in lots of fine scratches which even after polishing still dull the paint. I removed most of them today and I think it looks much better for it . Photos are BEFORE : AFTER.

hmmm, i`ll try and find some photos of a black roadster with them fitted. the ones on Ebay seem to be for 03>06 models, so i`m not sure what will fit. I`ll have a search...

My main car is a Mazda 6, 2.3 sport that I`ve had since new. I started going to the Nurburgring in 2005 and quickly decided that I could afford to keep taking the Mazda round. December 2006 saw me buy a MK2 Golf, partially stripped track car, I did some work on it, took it over to Germany at Easter, then wrote it off I brought the shell back home and in 5 weeks went from this: to this: I did a photo `diary` of the build, I`d never done anything like that before so it was a bit of a daunting project, but looking back, it went suprisingly well. I managed to do 185 Laps of the ring this year and although it isnt all about times, my best was an 8:46, which really showed me how well the car went. I plan to take the Zed round once, just so it can earn its sticker... Ordered a car today Roadster (obvioucly !), 06, 9,000 Miles, GT Pack. Am collecting it on Tuesday next week, so I`ll post photos then.. I`ve never spent so much on a car, so although I am excited at the prospect of owning one, I am also slightly apprehensive at spending such a sum of money on a 2nd hand car. I`m certain the experience will be worth it, but its not everyday you order something like this is it. well, it isnt for me anyway

Spoken to him, car seems OK, but he wont budge on price, which I was suprised at, the fact that the wheels need changing/refurbing and the tyres are `just legal` means there is more expense ahead. Going to keep looking and see what somes up.

I am now 99% certain we are looking for a Roadster, UK, Black, preferably GT, perferably Alezan orange leather, with Rays. I know it narrows my choice down a massive amount, but thats what she said she wants... We`ll either wait for the right car, or she may have to compromise. i`ll give it a week or two and see what happens..

its kind of hard to tell from the photos, but are the seats black Leather or fabric? I`m assuming its the non-GT model (as it doesnt say GT )? Cheers, Nige.
