I have the same set up as you matey but I have the ferrodo ds2500 and they still 'clunk' but work great so I'm not to worried

Mine's also done this for a while since I had ferodo pads fitted brakes have never been affected just bloody annoying though

im loving that idea chris the expenisve part would be the mechanism lifting unit!! making it waterproof wouldnt be a problem as we'd just 'tank' it like you do a a cellar and the top section would be waterproofed by the companies unit and that 'should' be fine as its tried and tested!! be interesting to know what money your taking for the unit
