Car Doctor - Milton Keynes (guys name was Terry) came over today to do the kerbing on the 2 front wheels. VERY happy with the job he did, can barely tell where the kerbing was, perfect colour match with the rest of the wheel. Had someone out over the weekend to remove the small dent on passenger door. He said before he started there was a risk the paint might crack as the dent was small but sharp. Unfortunately the lacquer did crack (about 0.5cm in length) but it's not massively noticeable as the dent has gone. I will try touching it in and see if that helps.

Ok, so I spent the day trying a new method of chip filling. Went round the entire car dabbing in paint to all the chips. Gave it a few hours to dry and then went to work with some soapy water and 1500 grit paper. Left a lot of rather worrying dull but perfectly flat painted chips on the car. Finished off with some Farecla Scratch remover to bring the gloss back and I reckon 90% of the chips have now completely dissapeared. By far the best method I have ever used for scratch/chip removal. Very happy!

+1 for Jenolite, always used this in stonechips and never had to re-do the chip whereas with Kurust its not completely killed the rust.

I am very tempted to do something like this with my Z and Millbrook is only 20 mins from me but the only thing worrying me is what affect it may have on my Z. Am I going to end up with knackered tyres by the end of day and is it potentially going to damage anything else on the car? (call me paranoid!)

latter part of next year I think Wow, I thought by all the sudden build up to the 370z we'd be looking at the 350z being stopped by end of this year. Never used bluetooth before. I have paired it to the car and can make calls. Now, am I meant to leave Bluetooth switched on my phone permamently or do most people only turn it on when they are in the car? Also, I presume to enable voice dialling I must setup voice tags on my mobile? (HTC Touch Diamond).

End of the day, buying cars is one of the best ways to lose money, if you're not happy with that dont buy a car like this Personally, I think the enjoyment I get out of driving this car far outweighs what I stand to lose when I sell X years down the line

Had chips away over earlier. Wanted them to deal with light kerbing on 2 front wheels and remove a small dent on passenger door. £180 + VAT. Also called in Car Doctor (local MK smart repairer) and he has quoted £155 inc. VAT so gone with him. Will let you know how it comes out. Decided that if I kerb the alloys after they've been sorted I will give the guide on here a go DIY

Got a 2003 Focus 1.6 Zetec today, £3500 with 44k miles. Immaculate. Not the most exciting of cars but is good for the main runaround and then I have the Z for myself

Ok, so had the car for best part of the day now, loving it! Only thing I have noticed so far is when I change up to 5th gear a feint single knock can be heard seeming to come from behind the console. Anyone else have this noise?

Could this same process be used for wheels suffering from corrosion? Can you sand through the corosion and then re-paint the local area?
