  1. Stay away from the washing up liquid, use a well diluted wheel cleaner like Bilberry. Once clean, use a good sealant on the wheels, this will make cleaning much easier in the future. I am meaning to get some proper wheel sealant, but in the interim I use AutoGlym Extra Gloss Protection. I only have Rays, but the maintenance principle is the same

  2. So after getting my licence last year, and doing the wise thing of not getting one over winter - I am now in the market for a bike :yahoo:

Have test riden a few (Bandit, Hornet) but today tried a CBR600F and have decided its got to be a sports bike for me. Really liked the one I tested but it broke down while on test....so had to ride pillion on the back of a Fireblade (not recommended :surrender: )

I know that there are a few bikers on here so wonderred what you thought on these, have any other suggestions for me to try or even know of any second had CBR's for sale near London.

  3. I tend to look at the oil pressure. I wait until it drops to 20-30 on idle before playing induction tunes.

Yup, I'm with you guys. Coolant heats up a bit quicker than oil, so wait for the coolant to level off and the oil pressure to drop, then we're off!

One thing that amazes me is how long the Zed keeps its head when turned off. You can leave it a good few hours and the coolant is still warm when you get back in. My old cars always went cold within an hour.

I find that as well, and even the oil pressure stays low for a good while too. Especially if I have been out and then wash the car, it can be a pain when trying to dry the bonnet!

Syptom of a big engine...Veyron probably stays warm for weeks!

  4. Thanks Chilly,

    Are these comparable to these?

I'm interested in Berks only. But they have to be a good price. I can get them for £350 delivered. If you can beat that, then I'm all ears! :)

Wizard, grateful if you can share a bit of detail

    Cheers

  5. Sounds like the brakes arent getting up to full temperature very often. Suggest you may want to do a couple of high speed runs and firmly brake down to 10-15 miles per hour. Sort of like the brake bedding in process (have a search for guidance). In my experience this will clear any deposits on the pads / disks.

  6. Usually it is mixed in with normal fuel, I think Volvo will sell you a car that can run on it as well as normal unleaded. Has better green credentials - lots of arguments whether that is true or not. Not something you will find at your regular pumps though.
