Cheers guys, hoping that it might be something like a loose component around the steering pivot - nothing that the weekend and the haynes manual cant fix!
-
If your circumstances allow it, I would be tempted to keep it. Holding on through more of the depreciation curve will probably be more cost effective than replacing it with something else.

I would say:
£11k if it was straight.
£9k Cat D (minus 20%)
IMO
Great minds

Same year, spec, miles (ish) as me, I estimate mine is worth £10-11 ish though this could be high.
As for Cat D - 20% reduction? Just a guess I am afraid.

Hi guys,
A few months ago I decided to dip my toe into the world of bikes and picked up a 2005 600cc Hornet with 17k on the clock. Have been using it for commuting to save putting boring traffic miles on the Zed. Decided that I don’t want to lavish the bike with mods and instead keep the cash for the car – that said I want to keep it in good and safe condition.
When riding really slowly or filtering the front end feels increasingly vague – like there is too much play in the steering . Visual inspection and simple checks don’t reveal that anything is loose and the tyre pressure and condition is spot on.
Doing a bit of reading around, it sounds like the front suspension might be on the way out – has anyone had any similar experiences? Don’t really want to start spending on aftermarket replacement suspension if I have to!
Any advice much appreciated

Think you will have to nip into your local DVLA office to get the form mate, as they need to issue your motor with a new plate.

Hmm hopefully should slip through, I wonder how receptive the marshalls will be to my excuse of "but it sounds soooo nice?" will be!
Mike - cheers for the sticker BTW - now pride of place in the window

So I have a Nismo exhaust and Berk Hi-Flow cats - the sound is fantastic - but have seen that some track days are imposing a 100db limit. Does anyone know if this set up will exceed that? Guessing someone with this set up may have been tested at a trackday at some point???

£700...optemistic!

make sure the dealer checks the charge rate from the alternator - may not be an issue of losing charge...but that you aren't getting enough in the first place. My Zed is 5 yrs old and only battery issue was when I left the interior light on by mistake - amateur!

I used to run one before I got my apexi induction kit. You will be unlikely to notice any sound / performance improvement (well, i didnt) but economy went up a little bit...but then you didnt buy a Zed for the economy!

Dissapointing to lose a motoring show, has its faults, but Rate Tiff - simple as that!

I used a 6' ladder and placed it at the end of my driveway. I was surprised at how well it turned out.
Good work, photo does look good, keep meaning to get some photos of my little collection too

Nice Zed - what did you climb to get the last photo...or are you the worlds tallest Zed owner?!
-
Sure Wales was great, but I doubt it will have quite as good an all day breakfast as the Ace!

I am keen to replace my bushes, but want to stay on standard springs/dampers. Are bushes a job best saved until suspension needs replacing or worthwhile (cost effective) to just do them on their own?
-
Well, would hope they were open to negotiation!
-
Just MOT'd my Zed - took my OEM cats along just in case - but not required, passed emmissions test easy
-
Thats all good advice, dont want to start butchering the Zed in the vaugue hope of making it competitive - something like an MX-5 or even an Aygo would be an amusing start. Going to find some local ones to go along an watch, anyone know of any in the Surrey area?
New Member - well kind of anyway
