i advertised my last car on autotrader and couple of people tried to scam me. autotrader couldn't do enough for me and they'd probably remove the ad if they were aware of it.

peugeot 405 1.9 tdi

Same designer as that Porsche on pistonheads
c'mon it's not that bad
-
looks good mate
not sure where you could get a heat shield on it's own, maybe pm big phil or envy as even if they can't source a heat shield, they may have a used one lying around. . .
just got myself a pipercross fitted and the heatshield is quite good. maybe pipercross will sell just the heat shield if you asked nicely. let me know if you need the dimensions of mine
-
oh and get some pics posted when you actually get the car
-
all they are is a blanking piece that fits underneath the rear strut brace to stop stuuff in the boot sliding forward
and nissan charge about £90 for the privledge!
welcome to ownership. you're not too far away from me
-
i bet he's mowed out with offers on that. . . . . . . . . . .b'dum tsch

the fella in the related videos holds onto the steering wheel for dear life! there's no holding onto the top of the wheel with one hand to look cool.
-
when i've finished modding (hah) you'll have to let me know which one is more favorable. wouldn't mind a 2000 whp zed
-
Torque seems to be down a bit.
My car made 283bhp & 243 ft/lb at the flywheel a few months ago with similar mods to you.
Was it at the same place?
You cannot compare different rolling roads. Only correct comparison is on the same one at the same day.
The only 2 things one can trust from a rolling road session are:
1 - Air-fuel mixture
2 - If mods have been done and a before/after run has been done the performance gain
Comparing absolute results from one place to another is never accurate.
i'd hope you could compare results as near as makes no difference? i know figures would vary but it can't be that much can it?

The only rule i try to stick by is to not mod anything that can't be returned to stock
not a bad philosophy if you wanna realistically sell your car when you're done. would struggle returning to stock after a TT converstion. suppose you don't get many of them on a lambo tho. . .can you imagine! 101mph would be an understatement
-
i know 101 mph is technically very fast for a road, but in reality a 21 day ban for 1 mph (or 2 if your pedantic) has gotta be painful. ouch. glad the traffic cops where i live are too busy clearing corsa and punto accidents to worry about me in my zed
-
Fair enough, now thats better!
I was just a little that all you mentioned was my '17s' like 'oh, is that all you got?' and made no comment about the lights!
I know the lights wont appeal to many on here, but then thats exactly why i got them - they were different, original, and i'd never seen it done before (until i found the thread where someone had done it, obviously )
I hated my bmw forums i was on sometimes... you had to conform to what everyone else liked, or else you weren't welcome. The standard welcome message to all newbies was "You need clears and a drop." - it was so tedious!
Anyway, i've got to get my rest - i've got to do the other side tomorrow... or should i take them out?
Good stuff mate
There's no snobbery on here mate. There are 'standard' mods that people suggest on here but if you don't like them, them **** em
One thing i've never done, is conform. I had a yellow zed and put up with being called 'custard' for a year or so. Then I buy a bright orange car. If anything I love to not conform
Again, the point is that its your car, do whatever you like to it. If I don't like it, who gives a toss? Nobody on here listens to me anyway
+1
what's the point in modding if you only do what everyone else does.
-
they are becoming more and more popular but wether you can retrospectivly (bad spelling i know) put them on older cars not designed for it is another matter. i have seen led reflectors with only 3 leds on and that would look a lot worse, but as yours are i don't mind them.
-
101 mph is anothing. a 19 yr old lad in scotland just did 120 mph on a residential street. now that's cool (or not)
did you get disco for 101 mph? that must'a hurt. . .
-
Sorry sarnie - we cant all afford the quality of gear you're used to. if you havent got anything nice to say then dont bother eh?
i couldn't afford to live in macclesfield
only joking of course.
thought about led's in the reflector but chose against it as i think it may be an audi fad but they seem ok. the pics you took don't reflect when your driving around with a zed up your jaxy at night which is when you'd really notice them.

Bloody ECU, why on earth does it do that! I don't suppose this is a later model thing only is it? Do ealier cars have less fascist ECUs?
unfortunately i think all 350's have the same meddling mary poppins ecu. even the new gtr is said to have the same type of ecu, which sticks its nose in where it shouldn't!
-
it's a bit sad but i saw the zed when it was first advertised and thought 'one day i'll own one of them' and now i do, and i'm the same sad w***a i was then. my old cars were good in every sense but don't compare to the zed
-
adam of z1 auto has a zed with only n/a mods that produces almost 310 whp i think.
-
I had to phone in sick the other day...boss asked 'just how sick are you?'
to which I replied...
"well I just f*cked my dog!"
some may take offence to that, you don't have to be sick to f*ck a dog
-
Isn't the Popcharger less than that ??
Not trying to be pedantic, just trying to improve my knowledge of the Z...
I thought the pop charger was around £95 and you don't get a heatshield - I'm not even sure if you get the duct work. Happy to be proved wrong though as I'm considering some kind of induction purchase...
the JWT popcharger is a lot cheaper but considering that uprated intakes don't improve performance on the zed (damn the interfering ecu), i went purely for looks. the JWT has a bit of a heat shield but it doesn't look as substantial to me.

other than the pipercross, i would've considered the HKS suction kit cos that looks the dogs

Zed piccie
in Media
photoshop has it's uses. i think it's cheating when people have a car in a magazine that's photoshopped. the pics should be showing what the car actually looks like and not how good a computer can make it look.
on the other hand, it can show pics you wouldn't normally see, and also gives you decent avatars and signatures which would otherwise be a bit boring
you can also use photoshop to edit the bras off celebrities
-
bet it costs more than £150 when you choose it as an optional extra from mitsubishi. . .
if you did choose to get it make sure you post up pics.
-
didn't know there was a choice and ended up with red. quite like it as planning a bit of black in the engine soon and it'll go well. wondor what other ideas i can steal from you. . .

they only recently upgraded so would suprise me if they made any significant upgrades this year.
welcome to the forum and satisfy our thirst by posting pics when you get your zed
