  1. Guys thanks a lot for all your responses. Would you believe it but after 7 months of trying to sell, I get an offer just a couple of days after making this post! I accepted an offer for £15k which I'm ok with - could be worse. Now just need to decide what to go for next... Half tempted to get a UK Zed roadster believe it or not! It was mainly the fact that mine was manual that I didn't like!

  3. Didn't know that actually... Yeah definitely. If I was a buyer I'd definitely stump up the extra and get a new or nearly new UK model. But partly because I've had my fingers burnt by every aspect of buying and owning and import! I just fear if I hold on any longer I'll soon be listing it at £14,950, then £13,950..... Haven't had any P/X interest sadly. I do have a couple of people that have said they could be interested at £15k so I think I'll just be grateful for that and have followed them up so we'll see where that gets me. Thanks all. I started posting on here with queries when this damn car started causing me pain 18 months ago and it's been a steady stream of problems since then! So I'm sure I'll keep you all posted with how I get on...
  4. It's probably got a lot to do with it - JDMs have their disadvantages but then if it's priced accordingly compared to a UK one then it should tempt people. I wrongly thought that there would be people out there that want an auto and then their only option is a JDM and you have a captive audience. But I don't know how many UK cars are selling at the moment either. I know zed values have dropped (as with all cars) and some people put this down to the 370, but since there is no 370 roadster yet the 350 roadster is still a current model.
  5. Yeah - to be honest that's left over from when I thought that was a good price, but clearly it wasn't. Removed.
  6. Hi all, Can I ask for some advice? I've been unsuccessfully trying to sell my car for 7 months now and I'd like to know what everyone's opinion on what a realistic price is, because I really need to get rid of it whilst there is some summer left. I'm reducing it all the time and I'm already at the position where I'm now asking less than an offer I received a few months ago and turned down, so naturally kicking myself. I think I've spent over £300 on eBay, PistonHeads and AutoTrader fees so far and counting! It's a JDM 2007 (313) Night Blue roadster, Tiptronic, Frost Grey leather, 6000 miles. Taxed until November 2009 and third party warranty until Feb 2010 (for what it's worth). Full details here: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/813385.htm In my opinion it's a good amount less than any other 313 UK Roadsters but clearly not low enough. I've had 3 viewings but people have gone away and never got back to me. I'm sure if someone out there wants a tiptronic roadster and knows JDM is their only option then it's a good deal, but I think that's a pretty narrow target market and from talking to prospective buyers they just don't want to know about a JDM. My downfall has been not wanting to lose too much money, having only had it 7 months (and not to mention to problems I had before that). But the long it doesn't sell the more I lose so I just need to be realistic I think. Thanks all, Alex
  7. Oops looks like I missed a few pages of this. Anyway if it's 28th June then probably can't make it as true to my name I'll be at Glasto!
  8. 1) Ian 2) CaptainSensible 3) Choptop 4) Sunset350z 5) MWalker56 (90%!) 6) PIMM 7) GlastoVeteran (50% - am selling!)
  9. I saw that one in Clifton Village on Saturday as well - very indeed!
  10. Thanks - if it was D350Z he's just got one sadly - I'm a couple of days too late!
  11. Listed on Pistonheads and eBay: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/813385.htm http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=330333373742 £15,950 - priced to sell - no offers.
  12. Oops, looks like I stumbled on this thread slightly too late! Mine's still up for sale... http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/813385.htm
  13. Just found this using the search when trying to refer back to a post I'd made... What was the item that's been withdrawn?!
  14. Pistonheads, eBay and AutoTrader (web only). £17,950 which I know is too high but I'll take an offer.
  15. Don't ask! It's been sat outside for the past 4 months whilst I've been trying to sell it with no joy. I've probably had it priced to high plus the fact that mid-winter isn't the best time to be selling a zed roadster. Hopefully now the sun is starting to shine I'll have a bit more luck and I'll just have to drop the price a bit more and face an even bigger loss. I've had a bit of fun with it but after all the hassle I went through I'm just happier with the Z4
  16. Likewise - I've only ever seen about 3 other coupes in the 5 months of ownership, and you don't often get to say that about a car. I jumped the zed ship in favour of a Z4 Coupe but sadly not the M version which I am quite jealous off - nice car! Hope you're enjoying it. I'll post some pics of mine.
  17. Hi all, Zed has been left unused for a month or so and the battery is dead - won't unlock, no lights on dash etc. It jump started fine but only drove around for about 10 mins and so as a result it's dead again. Can I charge it by driving it for a good hour or will it need charging with a proper charger? It's a JDM by the way so I know it has the smaller battery. Cheers guys, Alex
  18. Thanks for everyone's help and advice. A couple of days ago I tried a bit of WD40 on the visible pistons and any obvious moving parts but even after a little wait it didn't seem to help. Two days later and positively toasty 8 degrees here, I thought I'd have another go and it dropped first time [*]! So I don't know whether it's to do with the temperature after all, or just the WD40 having time to work? [*] I say first time - it got past the sticky bit and then stopped right at the end when the lid was about 1 inch from closing. Pressing the button again closed it, so I guess it's still a bit sticky somewhere. Thanks guys, hope everyone else is having more luck too.
  19. Thanks all for the replies. Harry and Andy I' be interested to know what Nissan say if you wouldn't mind letting me know? Cheers.
  20. Hi all, I've just picked up my JDM roadster and there seems to be a problem with the roof. It has only successfully opened once and now it just refuses to go all the way down. It gets to the stage where it's folded back and almost tucked away and then just stops. If you release and press the swictch again you can hear a relay clicking on somewhere but nothing else happens. Because it's only opened properly once I just wanted to check I'm doing everything I should which is holding my foot on the brake and holding the open button. Nothing else I should be doing?! Thanks, Alex
  21. Thanks guys for all the comments. Sorry Chris for not having put the shift kit on ebay yet - been quite busy but I promise I'll let you know when I do! ungarsee - I've got the Z4 3.0i Sport Coupe and I love it. In terms of comparrison with the zed, some things are better and some not but overall I prefer it to the 53 reg UK zed I had: 0-60 (0-62) times are identical to the 07 Zeds - 5.5 (5.7) - but the Z4 is lighter and has a 3.0 litre straight six so it easily averages over 30 MPG and will do 300 - 400 miles on a 55 litre tank! One thing I liked about the zed was that it's not that common - can easily go for a while without seeing another, and whilst the Z4 Roadsters are as common as dog @*!# you hardly ever see Coupes, and I really like that. The interior feels more expensive than the Zed's (to be expected from a BMW) and has a few more toys as standard - automatic headlights and wipers, memory seats and aircon settings linked to the keyfobs and much more in the way of optional extras which can be both a good and bad thing I suppose. If you're buying used then you might get lucky with a well spec'd one. Base stereo is pretty crappy but does at least have an AUX input as standard. I probably don't drive on the limit enough to be able to notice much difference between the handling but I certainly haven't got any complaints! Quite noisy on the motorway partly due to the runflat tyres. Maybe I'll come back to the zed one day...
  22. Congratulations mate - looks wicked! I'm so glad it didn't turn out to be as much of a nightmare as mine, which incidentally I still haven't got!! In fairness to them it was ready mid-September but I asked them to try and sell it for me. Needless to say not much luck there so I'm off to pick it up next week to try myself. Who did the tests to get the model report produced in the end - I assume if you've already got it that it can't have been MIRA? Hope it's all been worthwhile - enjoy!
  23. Hi all, I need to sell a 2007 Roadster and I know demand and therefore prices tend to be lower at this time of year, but the question is do you think I am better off just shutting it up for the Winter and waiting until Spring to try and sell? I know it'll probably be easier to sell then but would I achieve a better price now or wait 4 - 5 months? Depreciation verses lack of demand at this time of year... For those that have ready any of my previous posts this is my JDM import that I foolishly decided to import through Bonsaicars last December. 11 months later and I'm finally off to pick it up next week but I really couldn't care less for it any more and I just want to see the back of it. I had to go out and buy something else for daily use and also for a big European trip so bought a Z4 Coupe instead [waits for abuse...]! It's a real shame that this experience has put of off the Zed but I'd just rather keep the Z4 now. Thanks guys, Alex
