Im confused i thought the Z Brembo set up are awsome enough.. is it really worth changing the OEM pads to aftermarket ones?

Hi .. i seen it advertised on ebay quite a bit recently ..but no one seems interested in bidding. Be honest im a bit weary of these.. i prefer an induction kit that housed in an air box so it looks more stock (K&N Typhoon and Stillen).

Well im going to get a remap for my Z (cost about £900), so ordering an induction kit (stillen £150) and 'true dual' exhaust system (ie borla or stillen) is definately worth it for me so i get the maximum HP gains. Apparently u wont get any gains from these extras unless u do an engine remap..z's have self correcting ECU ...so if u just buy an induction kit and Nismo exhaust all you wil get is a great sound... If youre gona keep the car long term go for it! Nismo from US - about £700 (plus any import duties and VAT about 25% on top of that max) and go for the Stillen induction kit is abut £150 from UK.

Ive been stopped numerous times in last 8 years of driving and never been issued points or fixed penalty charge.. somehow ive always been able to get away with a warning or a cop shaking his head at me in disapproval as i slam on the brakes when going past them... .. one time i was caught on A3, the london traffic cops stopped me for approx **mph over speed limit... I acted dumb and asked if theyd stopped me cos my sports exhaust was too loud ...i then found myself in 20min conversation with them about TVR's and various other car exhaust sounds that are apparently illegal...we finished the convo and we were all just about to walk off and then they finally remembered why they stopped me and called me back to give me a proper warning. They let me off that time..i was damn lucky! Another time i was caught by cops in Kingston and i was driving a 52 plate MK4 Astra turbo (that id modded up to 300hp) they said theyd followed me for 2 miles and had trouble keeping up.. but they loved the car so much and were more interested in looking what id done to the car to make it so fast (they were also driving the same year Astra but was diesel model.. and they stil couldnt understand it) I trully beleive the best way to get out of a fine or points when stopped in our Z cars, is to try to change the subject .. try to make them think of something other than your speed, maybe think up an alternative good reason why they might have stopped u and ask them about it.. and always speak politely, they like to be called 'sir'.. they feel respected i guess. If anyones got any good methods to avoid tickets pls share! or good stories?

I also need a service on my car... gone 14,000 miles and its a 52 reg.. im in Surrey area - i thought maybe Wilsons in Epsom, anyone know what service i might need and what i should expect to pay? (better to know before i ask the dealership so i dont get ripped off)

I prefer to get induction kit than panel filter... But better to get one that doesnt look that obvious.. the two i had in mind are: K&N typhoon and Stillen intake These 2 are housed in a box (so keep warm air out) and look more stock. If u just stick an open ended popcharger cone in your engine bay it'll just drag in hot air thats no good at all

Why change them with stock platinum plugs?!...i thought iridium spark plugs are the best for any performance vehicle..

He basically rips alot of it out but still uses the original screen it's these guys http://stores.ebay.co.uk/caraudiovisual Just been in contact with them, communication is good, replied within minutes .. but their replacement sat nav option costs £1100 and their replacement touch screen sat nav/IPOD/MP3/cd option is about £1600! Just a bit over my budget.

I called them and mentioned it politely.. he was nice enough to offer a paypal refund of £7 and he acknowledged the online postage could be less. I waited for few mins while he tried to issue it (its an 0845 number)..then he said his paypal account was empty so he needs to wait till someone else's transaction goes thru to issue me with refund Hmm..il see what happens and update you .

Sorry to go back to the original topic - just ordered a new 'Z emblem' for front or back and also 'chrome 350z badge' from funkystyling.co.uk - was £60 and £3 postage (beware if u buy online the postage it states is wrong, i paid £10 instead of £3 so please call them when paying for an order!)

Thanks for the offer Adam - can you quote prices for set of 'red LED lights' and also 'clear JDM' ones please? Also just looking through the members gallery here and found this photo of gun metal Z with also 'gun metal effect rear lights' installed.. What does everyone think of these? Does anyone recognise the rear valence on this Z?

Thanks for the advice all...If cant get reasonably priced JDM ones il probably grab a good deal on some 2006 red LED versions and install them next month. Definately dont want to look like a chav!
