Ok, i'm finally picking my car up Friday lunchtime
I have been driving a company car for 10 years and have forgotton what i should expect to collect along with the car.
I assume
- Car keys - how many should i get, i guess 1 main, a spare and i also recall someone in another thread mentioning a valet key?
Should be 3, as you say 2 main keys and 1 valet key, cost me £110 to get a new one made, also see if the key # has been written down in the back of the manual, not vital but handy to have.
- Service book and handbook
And any bills\receipts, again handy to have.
- V5 document, without part signed by previous owner which has been sent to DVLA
If a private purchase I'd offer to post off the rest of the signed form, then you know it's been sent, unless you are buying from a dealer.
is there anything else?
Before you hand any money over have a good look around the car.
I know i need to tax the car straight away.
Also, i have just bought a personal plate for the car, should i wait until the V5 has been transferred or can i transfer the car and add the registration all in one go?

and let the fun begin!

These two 'holes' on the rear, are they covered up by the 'Z' badge and is there any risk of water ingression?
-
I have my eye on a pair of new and unused 'Z' badges to replace the front and rear Nissan items, how are they attached, is it double sided tape and are the Nissan badges fixed by the same method, what is the best way to remove them, i.e. would you use a hairdrier?
TIA

That would be my son!!! Typical, I never get spotted!
He had borrowed my car as his C2 VTR has a gearbox problem and was returning it to me at work on Bayton Road.
Didn't know there was a UY in Coventry - I will look out for you!
Will keep an eye out for you

To use voice activation you press steering wheel button and tell it 'dial name' then it tell it the 'name' you wish to dial, when it reads out the name you recorded you then tell it to 'dial'
Obviously this will only work if you have stored all the names\numbers in the first place....

I love my Bridgestones now.....
Wait till winter..........
Easily solved, stays in garage and use other car!

Had mine replaced on my GT by Autoglass but that was cracked, how big is the chip? as I understand they can repair upto about a £1 coin size, and it was a Nissan screen would have cost if I remember right £374 had I'd been paying for it, I was surprised how much trim they have to take off to get the screen out, took them about 75 mins but they did a good job.

Liverpool & Victoria
£326 protected NCB, legal, unlimited travel abroad etc etc, me and wife to drive, it is limited mileage though at 8k and it's a 55 plate, but I am over 50.
Thanks for the heads up on this company, they have just quoted me £156 less than my renewal quote with Privilege.
As you probably have read somewhere on here since I made this post I have changed the Zed GT for a GT4 and they charged an extra £20 and said at next renewal March 2008 it would be £350, didn't think they could quote you more than 30 days ahead!? still we will see. One thing I did spot though, where as my 407 Coupe (insured with L&V as well) is covered fully comp when abroad the Zed is only minumum insurance cover, but can be upgraded for a fee for the time spent abroad, might be worth reading your small print on your own insurances!!!

Touch up paint and cocktail stick to deliver it!

Cheers for the advice.

Ok you experts, car was recently P2 'ed, i don't know what oil was used, I want to get some to top up with (5 - 30) but should I get min or syn or won't it make any difference.
TIA

My god what a difference a new shock has made! I love my Bridgestones now.....
-
About 1pm today, I was waiting to join island you were coming round towards Longford, gave you a wave but don't know if you saw me
-
Sorry didn't see the flash, was just heading down to Northampton to supplying dealer to have a new rear shock fitted.
-
Sorry, I'm on holiday then, but thanks for the invite

Yep, totally agree with you there. I dread to think of the money I've lost on cars over the years but I have enjoyed driving lots of different cars.
I'm the same, reckon I have had getting on for 60 cars now and lost on them all except for a 911 which I got my money back and a 944 which only 'lost' £500, oh and I forgot my previous Zed I got what I paid for it on trade in, one of the worst was my M3 which I had from new, 10 months down the line I lost £9k, one of the reasons I no longer buy BM's.
-
Glad you found the culprit, heres hoping you can get it fixed nice and quick to get the zed back to normal
Friday afternoon 2:00pm.

Had a run against a Renualt Megane Sport 225 the other day, not to be sniffed at checked up later and the numbers are not far behind at all!
-
at the end of the day it's covered under the warranty
Is it? I'm never sure whether shocks come under "consumables", although I agree that it shouldn't have failed so soon in its life.
Just had it confirmed that it is covered.

Finally got pi**ed off with the ride of this car, have bedded the tyres in and still it don't handle as well as my previous Zed, (see my 1st post) I know our local roads are bad but the crashing and banging from the backend is driving (excuse pun) me mad also the traction control has been kicking in without trying, bearing in mind this car had had a P2 service before I picked it up everything should be fine! So just got underneath it to find that the nearside rear shock is bu**ered smothered in oil and has been for sometime looking at the amount of crap stuck to it......
Have been on phone to Dealer and chewed his ear off, awaiting a reply, at the end of the day it's covered under the warranty, but at least I now know what it is!

I see the Kuro Zed GT I traded in at Camdens has been sold, anyone from here bought it?
