  1. Either the guy has a sense of humour or he is severely retarded and I can't decide which.
  2. Bloody hell, is yours a Diesel
  3. Glorious weather last night so dropped the roof and went for a cruise. Filled up with Super Unleaded and reset the trip computer. Dual carraigeway out into the countryside, then cruising down country roads and a brief spell of motorway back home. Speedo showing around 70 most of the time. Total distance about 70 miles. I wasn't really paying attention to the trip computer or driving particularly for economy, just chilling in the Zed playing tunes and enjoying the weather. Pulled up on my drive at home and noticed 31.6mpg at 49mph average speed. Thats the most I've ever seen on the Zed, I was very impressed. So, to beat the silly fuel prices don't buy a different car, just chill out Anyone got similar figures ?

    V350POW

Yeah I think so, considered keeping it myself but I never keep a car long enough to justify transferring a plate every time...

    V350POW

Is this plate any good to anyone ? I don't want a lot for it, just thought it might look good on a 350. I will have to tax the car it's on to transfer the plate but I will do so if it's worth my while. According to reg transfers they would sell it for £750 and give me £400 back. Any offers on the £400 ??? Bear in mind the buyer - thats you that is - will have to pay the DVLA transfer fee. Please email SouthamsOnline@googlemail.com or phone 01254 392186. Thanks lads
  6. I recently had the same issue, we have two Rotties. If you want an absolute bargain have a look for a Mazda Tribute V6 Auto. They come very highly equipped and best of all they run the 3.0 V6 Ford Duratec engine - 200bhp. Mine has Leather, Air Con, Cruise, Multi CD changer, Moon Roof, all electrics etc. Mine is an 03 with 52k on the clock, full history and it was under £5000 through the trade !!! You just can't beat that spec for the money. It's drives like a big saloon, very comfortable, quiet and smooth and with a decent turn of speed. It's sensibly geared for cruising too, 70mph is about 2000rpm and it will do 25mpg so not silly on fuel either. I've never seen another on the road, which makes it a little bit different. I'm very pleased with mine. Pictures on my website : www.SouthamsOnline.com
  7. The things that come to those that wait may be the things left by those who got there first. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat drinking beer all day. A flashlight is a case for holding dead batteries. A shin is a device for finding furniture in the dark. 8. Toshiba are excellent, I have a 60 inch Tosh downstairs and a 42 inch upstairs in the "TV room". Both my kids have little Tosh's in their bedrooms. I also have two Toshiba DVD players. Excellent kit.
  9. Well my missus was moaning the other night that I never take her anywhere expensive these days. So I took her to a Petrol Station.... I'll get mi coat
  10. I do that all the time... Especially when a customer asks for a test drive in a car which is blocked in. I tell them to sit in the drivers seat and I'll make the noises...
  11. Nice one Jay. I love it when a talker gets put in his place. I reckon I could take him though
  12. Yeah Imports are the kiss of death to the trade, many dealers won't touch them. I have two Uk cars at the moment, an 06 Roadster with 9k and a 56 Coupe with 12k, both GT Pack and the Coupe has Sat Nav. I've had them both for a couple of months now, the job is very quiet.
  13. The motor trade, along with many other industries, is on it's ass at the moment and has been since the end of March. Many dealers have folded, two near me have packed up in the last month so right now is an excellent time to buy. Haggle hard and get yourself a great deal.
  14. Why don't do they do this at the weekend ? I would love to see that.
  15. Thanks Jon, they are fully booked that night ( 14th ). I'm really struggling, looks like we're taking a Tent then
  16. Top bloke, thanks Jon I'm guessing touristenfahrten is German for "tourists farting about". Struggling finding a Hotel near the ring, but should be plenty within an hours drive. Very excited now. I need a wee...
  17. That Hotel website says June 13-15 Superbike VM. I can't read German, do you think that means I won't be allowed on ???
  18. Just watched your video Ando and my heart is pounding ! That looks fantastic, I can't wait to get out there. I'm definitely not going to be flat out because the Z4M is only Third Party ( trade insurance ) and it owes me a bit too much money to drive with total abandon. I should imagine it's all too easy to get caught up in the moment, especially when something pretty mundane comes past ! However I am taking the girlfriend ( the wife can't make it LOL ) and I'm sure she will be smacking me in the ribs if I get too carried away
  19. Thanks Lads, thats superb. I'll report back on the fun I had. I'm taking a Z4M Roadster so should be a lot of fun, just hope it makes it back in one peice I would be gutted if I stuffed it. Meanwhile I found this video of a quick lap in a Caterham Superlight : http://www.evo.co.uk/videos/trackdayvid ... video.html I'm just about to watch Andos video now
  20. According to Google the 'ring is 641 miles from my front door. I've always fancied going so I've decided to go next weekend. Just wondered if anyone fancied forming a convoy I was planning to set off Saturday morning, early ish, drive all the way to a Hotel near the ring, chill out have a few beers and then Sunday morning put in a half dozen laps and drive home. Or might just set off Friday tea time and make the journey a bit less hectic. I've posted the same thing on the Supra forum, so there might be a couple of Supes in convoy too. Anyone up for it ? Anyone been before and can recommend a Hotel near the ring or give any useful tips ? Thanks in advance.
  21. I thought they preferred Transit Pick Ups
  22. Very true. Water Vapour has a greater "greenhouse" effect than all the other greenhouse gasses combined. Frankly it amazes me that the general public buy into this rubbish. With the advent of the internet any idiot with a keyboard can find out in five minutes on google that CO2 levels right now are at a below average level, historically speaking. Ignore the hype, look at the bare figures, there are many websites with graphical representations of atmospheric CO2 levels over time, and it's plain to see that there have been many periods in the Earth's past where CO2 levels have been MUCH higher, and this was long before Cars came along. Furthermore, the hottest decade this century was the 1920's so I am very interested in what statistics the government are looking at to convince themselves that Global Warming is actually happening. It's all lies and propaganda and as said takes mere moments to find out for yourself. Having said that, fossil fuels will not last forever and my personal thoughts are that particularly thirsty vehicles should be banned from production. Taxing people as a deterrent will NOT work, we all love our toys and our cars represent far more than transportation and many of us would sacrifice other things before our cars, such as going out for a meal or a night on the tiles. Also retrospective taxation is particularly unfair, as others have said. However if we were to ban the manufacture of anything that can't average say 20 miles to the gallon for example, that would be a start. In five years this figure could be increased to say 25mpg. This would spur the manufacturers on to developing more fuel efficient vehicles, which in turn would reduce the emmissions people seem so worried about. In 20 years who knows, we could have 500 bhp cars that do 40 to the gallon.
  23. Similar thing happened to me. Last time we moved house our new house wasn't ready so we rented a terraced house for a few weeks. The time came to move and we decided to throw out a lot of stuff so I went out of my way to borrow my mates Van to take it all to the tip. We spent a couple of hours loading the Van with all the stuff we didn't want anymore, and set off to the tip. When we got to the tip the guy said no Vans were allowed and refused to let us dump our stuff, despite me explaining I had borrowed the Van on purpose because I didn't have a suitable car and what would be the difference if I turned up with an estate car loaded to the hilt ? So anyway, in a very bad mood, I drove up the back alley behind the terraced house, climbed into the back of the Van and pushed the whole lot out into the alley. I then made an anonymous phone call to the council to tell them someone had dumped a load of rubbish in the street and sat back and watched as they sent a truck with two workers who spent 4 hours - including half a dozen tea breaks - clearing the mess.
