I was in France during the floods in summer 2007. Had only just got car after 3 month wait for it to come on ship from Japan. Drove car twice before I went on holiday and then when I got back from airport drove car home in dark - splashed through a couple of puddles no problem. Last puddle was a little larger.............. it had happened overnight while the whole village was asleep and I was unfortunately the first victim! Gutted doesn't even cover my emotions! I thought it was going to be dead!

surely with the massive depreciation on a new car now it would be cheaper to lease one! I'm not sure how that works but for that amount of money you could probably hire a chauffer and a limo!

too much information Stew! The worse thing along those lines was finding water coming through the ceiling. Him and his 'none too petite' girlfriend at the time were in the bath together! We lived in a very old barn coversion - im surprised they didn't come through the ceiling!

typical bloke - move from your mum looking after you to your girlfriend... I left home at 17 - or should I say my parents turned up at my then boyfriend's flat with a suitcase. At the time the flat was full of party people from the night before's activities - talk about embarrassing!
