Hey all, im toying with various ideas of getting my mits of a spare remote and key, but im having problems even experimenting. Im wanting to get the car into 'Remote programmign mode'. With the doors shut, your supposed to put the key in the ignition, and pull it out again, more than 6 times in 10 seconds, THEN the hazards are supposed to flash twice. Well, ive tried and tried and i cant even get it to do that. its really annoying. . . . . The remote i have isnt a UK fob, as they are different frequencies, but its beside the point, i cant even get it to flash the hazards to say 'entering programming mode'. Ive got the US service manual, and the above procedure is supposed to work, unless you have access to CONSULT -II nissan diag stuff, which, i dont . . . . . Any one know if the procedure for JDM cars are different compared to UK or US cars? I woudlt have thought so. . . . anyone tried? What am i doing wrong. . . . foro people who have had JSM kets programmed to htere cars by nissan, what did they do? JAmie

There was a guy on ebay selling replica INGS kits, and the description was 'he supplied the main guys ' etc etc but it was fiberglass, and , as we all know, urethane is the prefered material if we had our way as it does split to readily. I asked him if his 'replica' kit was good fitting, as replica kits notorious dont have decent fitment. . . . . he didnt reply. . . . .. . . . Ill take that as a no then. . . . Jamie

Stuey, does it sound better with the alpine and the bose amp/speakers? Yeah dude, thats so off. Take it back to them and discuss. . . . . thats no decent service.

I fitted and use the SpeedM8 Can Bus delimiter for 350z. Try a search for it on google. Has a wire out for MPH to convert your speedo/ digital gauges. . . Jamie

Yes, much easier to buy a car already landed and converted as the margin that you can save has dropped in the last 3-4 months. if u do import - Check the JDMs have a spare key - Check tire wear on the auction if at all possible as mine has 2 bald rears (£330)!! J

did u use a harness adapter (PAC) to link in the alpine to the factory BOSE amps? does it sound better? The factory BOSE is an absolute disgrace. . . . . Jamie

hes goign on the basis of the display now reading km/L BUT actually being mp/L basically how many litres in a gallon . . . . about 4. . . ? Jamie

Ive got a stainless Fujitsubo on my import and it sounds nothing less than amazing. . . . such a glorious sound. Normal sporty V6 sound under light foot, then howls like a 360 modena when you floor it. Know any good tunnels? Jamie

Thanks for the tip, looks like i missed that one out when i was buying it. I have my transplated page also, and it does t list a spare key like THAT one Yeah it came with Sat Nav, its the ST, even has the infamous 'auto DJ' button!! Jamie

cheers all done Im UK spec now. . . . even got a speedo that goes upto 180mph cant recommend the SpeedM8 delimiter and speedo conversion enough. . . though yet to try the top speed

Hey guys recently just got my import, but there are a few things which are serious uncool about the situation LOVING the car, but i havent got a spare key!! The guy at southampton seemed to think this wasnt uncommon for imports to come with only one key. I think, thats bloody farcical!!! How many other JDM's didnt get a spare key? Obvious gonna get some cut but wont it cost an arm and a leg? Do they have immobilsers from Japan, i KNOW they dont have an alarm, btu to get he central locking coded will obviously need a code of some type? Also, you JDMer's, did any of you get a service record with your car? I have none Another thing which i thought was down right rude was the Japanese Navi DVD missing. OK OK i know that it wont work in the UK, but theres no reason for it not to be included. I was gonna try and flog it on ebay! Damn cheek if the owner removed it in Japan to make some dosh on it! Obviously gonna phone my importers and try and sort this out, i wont name names at the moment as it may all sort out with no probs, but, so far, not impressed with the above. I realise its not all directly the imoprters fault anyway. WHats your thoughts guys? Jamie

Hi there is there a guide anywhere which illustrates how to remove the speedometer/tachometer assembly? Ive got some vaugue instrctions but some picture of how to would be great any ideas? Jamie

i have NO idea i might do. . . . . see i only just got the car 3 days ago and its a jap import. . . . maybe ill jack her up and take a look tomorrow to check. . . . defo hasnt got a turbo though . . . they more succeptable to rattle of something? J
