Doh!! I ticked Agree instead of Disagree, as I read the Poll as "I CAN get a smooth change between 1st & 2nd". Agreed, when the box is cold there's a bit of resistance from 1st-2nd, but after a few minutes every change (incl 4th-6th) is smooth. Personally, I wouldn't be bothered if I never had 1st gear as there's so much torque when pulling away in 2nd.

Who would have thought it, a bunch of monks from Buckfast Abbey in Devon are doing more damage to Scotland than any English King could!! The area encompassing Airdrie, Coatbridge and Cumbernauld is known as the "Buckfast Triangle". The urban myth is that in some pubs in these areas you can get buckie on tap. Like you Stew, I've never sampled "the tonic wine" myself. When I was younger and fancied some fortified wine, I was more of a Thunderbird or MD50/50 man.
