yup, just put my car through the online renewal thingy and its gonna be £300 still got 6 months to dwel on it till its due anyway. A thought occured to me the other day. The main people opposing the planned pay as you drive scheme were no doubt car enthusiasts such as ourselves, right? Is this a government tactic to make it more appealing to us, and shut us up for next time it comes up??

hmm, well my log book says date of first registration 03.. all good, date of reg in UK 10/06. But the 1yrs tax last october was £210, not the £190 you guys sound like you have paid?? I guess ill just have to wait for that renewal to drop through the door and hold my breath!

I remember a thread on this a while back, and since i just had my emptiest tank ever i thought i'd fill you guys in! Been driving with the light on for a couple of days (short commute) watching the computer count down from 60 odd. Today on the way to find a decent petrol station it went from 25 to 18, then just started flashing -- --, wasn't convinced i was going to make it! still, managed probably 2 miles after that point and managed to squeeze in 71.21 litres Sorry Z, i wont let you get in that state again

Just been having a check round the 'net and the cheapest im getting is from sainsburys bank! They quoted me £857 with no claims priotection. (27yrs, 9yr NCD in Manchester). They are a good £300 cheaper than bell came in at. Can't vouch for the service though, heard bad things about Tesco insurance when you come to make a claim. Not that Tesco = Sainsburys but you see the link

Just bought my JDM on Sat and had them put on a Sigma Cat 1 alarm for me after import. I've just been reading the book and it does all kinda of funky stuff like total closure (just for showing off of course ). This doesnt seem to have been enabled when they fitted it so i guess i'll have to take it in somewhere to be sorted. My question is (finally) would this be a big job to add to the system. I assume they will have to link it up to the leccy windows. Just dont want to get a huge quote if its a 5 min job and anyone know a nice cheap but reputable security dude in the manchester region? cheers

Thanks guys Just checking the clock and i did over 100 miles in it yesterday, going nowhere special... i'm a man possessed! I did have one worry though which i hope you can throw out for me. Its making some worrying noises occasionally which i first put down to sounding like wheel bearings going!! On further thought im hoping its just tyre noise... it still has the original Bridgestones on it which i read are particularly noisy. That sound about right? cheers

Got the 350 yesterday.... and there is no way of getting that smile off my face!! Just took a quick piccie, but its miserable and rainy - will try some more later

i've used mytyres.co.uk the last couple of times and they've always been good. Just checked and they do: Toyo Proxes T1-R 245/45/18 for £128.90 each Falken FK-452 245/45/18 for £113.30 each hope that helps

Budget is 14k + whatever i can talk them into paying as trade in for my current car! (celica) so looking at about 17 i think. Also considering saving to 18/19k as the lurvely ones seem to start about there, but i'm impatient Colour is a tad trickier. First thoughts were Kuro Black but i have to say that Gunmetal is growing on me Trying to avoid silver for the simple reason that every damn car on the road is silver these days! Will have to see a few in the flesh (err metal) before i decide i think.

Oh wait... you dont get off that easy... just remebered some more Steering wheel buttons... very few seem to have them, does that mean they dont have the gizmos, or JDMs just have plain wheels? The Bose stereo was a big factor in me going GT (well obv the leather aswell ) but is it really as pants as i hear? thats a damn shame

Hi Guys, this would be post #1 from me Ive been looking into getting a 350 for about a month now and ive got my heart set on a GT but unfortunately theres not many UK cars for my budget (around 17k). Im kind of wary about getting a JDM but reading the posts on here have warmed me to it! Question is how do i know what spec the car is without trusting what the dealer says? Are there certain buttons/ things to look for to prove the car is an ST and not jut a T for example? Do you give away any toys by getting a JDM over a UK car? do they all come with traction control for example? Sorry if these have been asked to death before, just trying not to spend all my cash on a dud
