  1. Now for the interesting bits .....................
  2. Our client had reported a degree of oil consumption which explains the carbon deposits. Subsequent measuring of the cylinder bore integrity revealed an excessive amount of ovality.
  3. The pistons crowns showed a remarkable amount of carbon deposits for such a low mileage engine
  4. This is the old engine partly dismantled
  5. Here's the standard engine having just been removed from the car.
  6. Here she is - the apple of our clients eye - a very nice G35 Skyline with around 20,000 miles under her belt
  7. Aaaahhh - silly me If an Admin feels this topic will more appropriate in another section - please feel free to move it. Thanks
  8. Hi, I hope you guys may be interested in a project we currently have under construction. It's not actually a 350Z - it's a G35 Skyline but I hope there is enough similarity to have some appeal to you. I'll post up in a blog form if I may? Info to follow shortly

  13. To launch our new service I would like to invite all club members to an open day at TDI. The idea is that we will evaluate your current geomentry, provide you with a report and allow access to our resident Chassis Dynamics expert to discuss your options and requirements. If any work is required it can be done by makng a booking with us at a later date, or by going elsewhere. This open day is absolutely free, and everyone is welcome The date is to be set but is likely to be from July onwards. Please show your interest on this thread Thanks
  14. We have taken delivery of the top of the range John Bean Arago V3D suspension calibration equipment today. This system is unique in using triangulating self synchronising digital cameras and automatic height indexing technology, and is capable of measuring every suspension angle on the car and checking the chassis squareness. Having previously undertaken the Prodrive Chassis Dynamics training programme which provides us with a thorough understanding of the whole concept of Chassis Dynamics (normally only available within the worlds of F1, WRC etc and Automotive Design Engineering), and of course becoming involved with Tony Bones of Wheels-inmotion, we are now very proud to be able to offer you the following services: 1. Chassis Dynamics consultancy for road and race applications. 2. Full geometry measurement and calibration for road and race applications 3. Dynamic Index measurement 4. Corner weight measurement and optimisation. 5. Full chassis frame check There is no increase in our normal charge out rate for this service, even though the standard of capabilities being offered are extremely rare. Please contact us if you have an interest or any question. Thanks
  15. We have ordered the John Bean Arago geometry alignment equipment to be compliant with WIM franchise requirements. As far as we can see, this piece of kit seems to be the very best that money can buy, and incorporates new technology that ensures accuracy and repeatability. This is going to open a new and very important service that we can offer, and compliments our Prodrive chassis dynamics knowledge and capabilities. As we have this, the new corner weight equipment and the Rototest upgrade all arriving next month, I think we may only be able to afford 1 sugar in your tea for a while
  16. Remapping an ecu is not inherently unsafe. If the techncian undertaking the recalibration makes a mistake or is not sufficiently qualified/experienced, it possible for him to upload settings that are unsafe for the engine. If the recalibration is done properly, the 350Z n/a engine should be perfectly safe. The difficulty for the unitiated, is choosing the right person/company to undertake the work. Hope this helps
  17. Take a look here guys http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=689 Tony is a suspension guru Hope this helps a bit
  18. The new TDi web site has finally been launched after almost a year of very hard work and tribulations. New features are: 1. User friendly shopping cart 2. Dyno cell web cam (please note this can only be viewd in Internet Explorer) 3. Vehicle specifications page 4. Separate "parts" and "upgrades" listings 5. Fixed price servicing (being worked on). 6. Supercar Sanctuary. Please take a look at www.tdi-plc.com and let me have any feedback. We know there are quite a few bugs that are being worked on and the shopping cart functionality will not be active until Monday. I will appreciate your feed back if possible please - thanks
