I was thinking about doing a blog about the installation of the Cosworth intake plenum on a 350Z. I thought it may be of some value to you guys so I don't mind taking the time and trouble if there is sufficient interest. Please let me have feedback on this. Thanks

Hi Everyone I don't know if anyone has seen this before, but I though it may be of interest to some. This 350Z has some mild tuning such as Milltek exhaust, induction kit and Unichip. We installed and tested some HKS exhaust manifolds recently and were impressed with the results. Unfortunately this car had been previously fitted with some poor quality high flow catalytic converters - the pipework is 50mm (instead of 60mm) and not mandrel bent. You can see that the power and torque is restricted fromm 5500rpm upwards becasue of this. We shall be manfacturing some decents cats next week and installing the Cosworth plenum kit, so that should cheer things up nicely

There is quite a back log of people waiting to buy them. I guess they either like the look of them or trust that Cosworth know what they are doing. We have the official Cosworth internal evaluation data which shows the improvement over standard and over a spacer kit, but we will conduct our own testing too. Cosworth did tell me that they were preparing a version for public consumption although we don't have it yet.

The increase is a result of reducing the intake restrictions, changing the intake runner lenghths and increasing the volume of the plenum - not by changing the a/f ratio or spak advance, although fine tuning of these will be beneficial

When both types of products are reviewed side by side, hopefully it's possible to see that they are most certainly not similar at all

Hi, some came in last December but were immediately sent out to customers so we didn't get a chance to do any testing. There is quite a big waiting list for them but the next one on the list is being fitted and tested here so I'll let you know the results. We haven't seen any plenum spacer kits that actually work yet, so it'll be quite interesting. What do you mean by work? As in peak power, area under the curve. Are you saying that the plenum kits you've tested have made a loss? Which ones have you tested? Im sure the Cosworth will make more than the spacers it looks like a decent bit of kit, but just want to know the facts. We haven't seen any plenum spacers that work at all yet - ie yield any power or torque increase. I'm not sure whether any have actually lost power. We have not undertaken deliberate testing on every single spacer kit available. We have have only done testing whereby clients have provided the kits themselves and asked us to install and test them. Hi, It will carry the normal legal entitlements of being fit for purpose and of merchantable quality etc. It is contrcucted from the same materials and processes as the manifold/plenum on the Cosworth F1 engines so I think they'll be ok
