  1. Oh, and whilst we are having a PC love in if anyone can tell me why "named" fails to start on fedora core I'd appreciate any suggestions.

    I get a "rndc: connect failed: connection refused" when checking the status, I have tried disabling iptables and the rndc key is used in both rndc.conf and named.conf and google is no help........

    oh well best get on with it...... :yawn:

  2. Went into the dealer today to get my lambda sensor fixed.....

    anyhoo.... Whilst waiting I had a chat with the salesman and I asked when I would be able to take delivery of a GTR :teeth: well I had to ask, and during the chat he mentioned that there is to be a folding hardtop version of the 350Z with a glass roof (similar concept to the Micra CC roof) which is due to be released before 2010.

    Anyone else heard similar mutterings?????

  3. Agree with Steve_b.

    The S is a more delicate tool and I think easier to drive fast (IMHO) but you will be having more fun in the Zed as well as being more satisfying when you get it right. The S leaves me a little cold; it lacks passion and drama.

    Same driver > the S would shave it.

    Enthusiast in a Z vs. Typical owner in S? Do you need to ask?

  4. I have it :ninja:

    no question of legality, you are protecting your property, you do have to careful however if your neighbours property is visible on camera as this can breach their rights so you have to set it up so they are not infringed.

    Also, if you wish to use it as evidence in court the pictures/recorded images must be overlaid with the time and date from my understanding of the law, just something to bear in mind if that is your intended (but hopefully not required) use.

    :yawn:

  5. When the wheels get dirty can I come round and lick them clean?

    Well done chap, when you are bored of it (or have kids) bags first refusal ;)

    Its yours in 12 months for £89,500 :thumbs::p

    For that price I will come and teach you how to drive it properly ;):p

  6. +1 for le touquet, some parts are like Cannes (big hotels, casinos etc but can be a bit snooty, maybe my bermuda shorts and kiss me-quik-hat were not appropriate apparel) whilst the market area offers a bit more cafe/village lifestyle.

    good for golf, horse riding, tennis and windsurfing.

    It can be a bit quiet off season (the bigger places seem to shut up shop in the autumn and dont wake up till easter) but this time of year should be bustling

  7. My rear tyres have now reach their limit after 25K of reasonably steady driving.

    Driving miss daisy?!? :teeth::p

    My 'stone fronts are shot after 12K, rears dont last between services.

    Currently testing other tyres to see if I can find something hardwearing.

  8. dont ask me to swear on the numbers, but from what I can recall the dealer process was;

    - drain the oil

    - flush the engine with errr..... :wacko: .... "engine flush" or toilet duck????

    - top the oil up to the "max" mark

    - the car was then returned to me to drive 600 miles, why 600? Ask nissan....

    they told me to check the oil frequently and return immediately if it got to the min mark but under no circumstances to add any before I returned.

    - 600 miles later..... I return to the dealer

    - The dealer then checked the consumption by topping back up to the "max" mark.

    My consumption was ~200-250cc, I seem to recall the limit was about double that ie; half a litre in 600 miles (but dont quote me on that!!)

    Since then my consumption has remained at about this level, no more, no less but I still monitor it closely.
