  1. brembo's its a UK car fella. Think they came to 54 quid or there abouts from brakes4u.co.uk Mr Lucky or what, I had tightened the bolts up and put the tools away, then during the bedding in run I rememberd about the locking wheel nut - well it sure wasnt on the car no more Turned around and retraced my steps, luckily it was near my road just laying there in the middle
  2. just put the red stuff in the front and going to go for a bedding in test drive shortly, wish me luck! The changing is so easy on these calipers. So much easier than any car I've worked on before, its just take off wheel, remove pins, take off shim, remove old pads. So quick so easy, no more of forcing them stupid springs that ford used to insist on, no more twatting a big lever to shift the pistons back because the cheap granada you bought for your fiance had not had its pads changed in over 10 years soooo easy and I've not even cut myself which is unusual tomorrow, when it is light, I intend to replace the rears
  3. cheers lads out of interest mark how long did the job take?
  4. I asked this too, the advice is green stuff is for light cars, the consensus was red stuff are great but yellow is better but I've gone for red stuff
  5. my fazer is going up for sale soon Out of interest how easy did you find taking the Cats off? I've seen verying reports of easy to nightmare, how did you go about it, especially the bolts that point towards the engine? I'm sure I saw a link on here the other day to a PDF for how to do this but I cannot find it at present
  6. ppffffft, 150 I'll do, 155 is pure stupid and wreckless

  8. the dealer was talking out of his arris. I've done quite a few 130+ runs with no ill feeling, in fact this is mostly done on the autoroute to belgium from Calais, the last time it was pissing it down and it was solid
  9. well I've been given the nismo price and the new rrp for these....
  10. just had this from RJN "We have managed to source the manufacturer of the NISMO brake lines and have been able to order some direct from them. They should arrive here in about 7-10 days then we will check them to make sure they are right. The retail price will be £xxx +vat. Otherwise, I have to wait until mid May for the NISMO order, the hoses are not available to ship until then. The good news is that we will be able to fit them then as our race will be out of the way " thought it may be of interest, however, I'm not sure if they want me posting this up or not as they need to check the new lines. Worth giving them a call though if you are interested in the ss lines
  11. JDM more likely to have been stolen to order JDM more likely to have been resprayed hehe yes I know I'm gonna get told off
  12. Take a look at the pre 06 model and save a fortune!
  13. looking at the pads still for mine, The rears don;t need doing but is there any real ill effect in using redstuff up front and standards on rear? Not upgrading lines yet due to funds (I'm tight) but the pads I am doing. Do redstuff damage the discs? Or for road and occasional track would I be better going for greenstuff? Also, what other cars use the same spec calipers/pads? I'm drawing a blank unless I use the web, ideally want to use a local shop - I believe the Skyline and a few others have like for like pads but which models? Anyone able to supply the manufacturer codes for redtuff or ferodo etc as that could help too Cheers all:yahoo:
  14. well I might just get the standard nissan ones fitted :| Dot 4 wet boiling point is 311 which is considerably more than DOT3...
  15. what should I consider a good boil point? 600/700/800 and is that C or F
  16. thanks for this fellas Never thought about the DOT5 issue, I'll go for DOT4 and some upgraded front pads - I saw a link the other day to a guide on removing pads so I'll go hunt for it Cheers again
  17. can anyone recommend or tell me of a good replacement set of front pads? I know I can get red/green/yellow stuff but I want something I could go down to halfords (I know!) and buy over the counter so I can do the brakes tonight. If Mintex etc do them, does anyone have the codes? Or ferodo etc? also any recommendations for DOT 5? Halfrauds have some in at £9 per litre which is rather eye catching cheers
  18. Just wondering, if I go and put the hi-flow cats on the car, is it likely the car will be over 95dB? I ask as I am doing more track time in it this year and don't want to be turned away due to noise. Also can anyone explain what the noise increase is like? Is it really noticable in the cabin? Thanks
  19. yeah the Ace was good, I want to go back!!! The system is a standard system, I dont see need to upgrade the system yet. The plenum has made a noticable noise difference so I wonder just what difference the cats will make?
  20. how long does that take ?
  21. Three words that I used to hate hearing but OH MY GOD. Just fitted the plenum (cats awaiting install) and what a difference it makes. Its not perceived difference it is felt and heard difference. Firstly the noise. I have standard exhaust and now with this you can hear a lovely rumble and burble at idle, as you raise the revs the noise is fantastic. Also there is now a nice sound from the front, cant wait to fit a pop charger for that added induction noise, for noise alone the mod has been worth it. Driving, instantly the throttle feels crisper - at idle the slightest blip you can see the difference. On the road you can feel it too, now I've always mentioned that if you kick ESP in on the road you are not driving particularly smooth - but withouth changing my style I've had esp kick in twice today where before it didn't - this could be interesting! I can't wait to fit the highflow cats but I suppose I should turn my attention to the fast wearing front pads before then If you are considering this upgrade whether for future big performance (FI) mods or not, seriously consider it fo the noise alone
  22. cheers fella, mark off the dark side () pointed me in right direction, there is a little button to press firm, it then clicks and pulls off
  23. I'm doing the v+ plenum install, so far is so good nice and easy. However am now stuck trying to figure out how to get the grey plug off the throttle body. The instructions just say remove it, how, its bloody steadfast and I dont want to use brute force and break it!!!
  24. nah I want to work out how to get paintshop pro to do the speed effect Though the Bi-xenons might be an idea
