Mine needs a PIN to start it and won't start without it, even if the box is removed from the car You can also define how long before the system kicks in after its been stolen.

If your budget is around an 03 zed (£15-16k) then surely its definitely unfair to be comparing it to cars at least twice the price? What other cars are you considering?

The Government here puts a crazy amount of tax on all imported cars, its to discourage people from buying imported, and instead buy locally made cars. People hardly buy imported cars new, they are always used, from Japan or somewhere. The average wage here is also much much much lower, so makes it even harder. Foods cheap tho Give me good old UK car prices (and wages) anyday But most of those prices are over double the brand new cost!!! A 430 costs about £130,000 but there its £280,000..... that £150,000 in tax

The zed will always lack punch when compared to those motors, but those motors are not direct comparisons are they? To compare you need to be thinking 2 seats for a start eg s2k, TT or a boxster. Those are the zeds competitors. The interior is pretty poor on the earlier models but not that bad imo. Try getting in a MY06 car as the interior was upgraded significantly on these cars onwards. Also, for less than £10k you can add some forced induction and achieve figures of over 400 bhp if thats what your looking for? It really depends on what you want from your car really

It was an amazing achievement but throwing that level of money at a car and for it not to be perfect is not my idea of fun. I agree with Baptist in that I would reather leave the designing and boundary pushing to manufacturers and just pay for the end product, imo
