  1. Well I guessed right, they were on the mat Friday. Fitted them last night, but not overly happy with the snugness of the "click" fitting, may need a slight tinkering. But the blades work really well, very good clean on the first sweep and they do sit lower on the screens. No lift or judder even going a little over 69mph...... Will take and post some pics when I get the chance. Ian.
  2. Ordered last Thursday, and nothing arrived as yet. Web site "help desk" is an answer phone. Left messages and as of yet, no reply.............. Hopefully they will be on the doormat when I get home.
  3. Sorry for the delay in replying......... Due to my laxy-dazy ways, I ony ordered them yesterday, so will post up pics and a report once they are fitted. Ian.
  4. IIRC the PIAA blades are a silicon version of the "normal" style blades, with the normal metal framework that supports them. These "flat" blades do away with the framework, and are an aftermarket version of the Bosch "Aero-twin" blades. They look very flimsy when not on the actual screen, but as said above, seem to work very well, but I've only seen them as OEM. I think I will bite the bullet and order them today. Will let you all know, how they fit / perform once installed.
  5. Has anyone fitted these yet ? I know a few people have fitted the PIAA "normal" blades. But I've been impressed with cars with the flat blades on ( Audi etc ) but these were factory fit, I don't know anyone who has fitted after market versions. These are from a division of http://www.1stautobulbs.com And would cost £ 33 for a set of 3 after the forum discount. Hopefully someone has them and can recommend them. Thanks Ian.
  6. Have you looked at the Hull - Zee / Rott route ? Last time I went, finished work Friday 5 pm was on the boat having a beer 3 hours later, left the ring Sun mid afternoon, back in work Monday late a.m. The cost is not much more that Dover if you can share a cabin. And just think of all the fuel money / time driving to Dover.
  7. I suppose the terminal velocity of two Zed's going in opposite directions makes for difficult flash / wave co-ordination. I would love to come on the drive out, but can't commit at the mo, work is up the wall ( yes I do have to work week-ends too ) and hopefully we should be in the middle of a house move in the next few months, so either packing or decorating / unpacking. I will keep an eye on the thread for confirmed dates.

    Aftermarket seats

About twice as much as I told the wife..... They will be in the "for sale" section April / May next year..... Ian.

    Aftermarket seats

I went down the Recaro route also. But used the Recaro subframes, but as Steve said, VERY expensive, but when it came to fitting, made it very easy. The "bridge" resistor to fool the airbag system came with the frames. ( Beware, you MUST fit this resistor otherwise NONE of your airbags work, not just the now missing seat ones. )
  10. That would be me then............... Normally get on the M6 8.30 ish. I take it your heading southbound. ? Or are you the miserable bugger who comes off at the Lancs who doesn't wave............... Ian.
  11. David, for a minute, I thought you'd been round and taken pictures of my wheels......... They look exactly like that. I think I will bring this to the dealers attention, and IF they are willing to replace them, wait until I need new tyres and get the lot done at once. Is this a know issue with Nissan CS, or just at dealer level ? Thanks Ian.
  12. Could I ask why you had new wheels fitted ? I'm having issues with the paint on my wheels. Ian.
  13. Empty the sweet papers and parking stickers from the ash tray. Don't keep the CD cases in the car only fill the tank half way as a max. Junk the electric seats. ( the seats do weigh alot )

    Tonneau Cover

I've just done the DIY thing too. Plywood and boom-box carpet for the MKI version. as with most DIY things I do, MKII would be better.........

    My new Recaro's

Recaro told me that although the seats (trendline etc) all look the same, they claim the base of the seats for OEM cars ( EVO's Astra Audi's etc ) will not fit aftermarket cars, as they will only fit a specific subframe. You have to buy aftermarket seats as these have a set bolt pattern and then the subframes for your actual car is an easy fit. Might be talking rubbish, but I was going aftermarket route anyway. Thanks for all the comments, more pics (inc close up of the material) are in my gallery. Ian.

    My new Recaro's

The wonderful world of EBAY......... I've been on the look-out for a while, for Recaro's in general. Either Trendline - basic model, Sportline - height adjust and lumber support, or Topline, fully electric inc heating and cooling..... But, when I saw the colour on these with a buy it now price, I just grabbed them. Yes £ 350 is just for the runners, they came in a dissapointingly small box for £ 350.

    My new Recaro's

The seats are a limited edition version of the Trendline seat labeled as "TOMCAT" only 75 pairs ever made and most are in the USA. The material looks like carbon weave, and I'm sooooo glad to be rid of the leather. And no more pain in the ar$e. I bought the runners direct from Recaro, I have a very helpful contact if anyone wants to get a set........ the price £ 350 for the pair. I could have gone down the Universal base route, but I don't have the time / knowhow / ability to modify them to fit. And I thought, this will be the only thing holding me in the car, so not a huge price to pay for safety. They did come with the "bridge" to fool the airbag system, so no warning light on the dash and the rest of the airbag system will be fine. I used the original seat belt buckles so the seat belt warning light still works. I've seen the seats on US sites for $ 1700 each. ( I didn't pay quite that much ) Only took a couple of hours to swap them over, and now I know what to do ( I took the drivers side out twice as I "found" something I'd left off ) I recon its a 20 minute job per seat MAX. BTW they will be in the for sale section in MAY / JUNE 08. Ian.

    My new Recaro's

Some may remember that I was having problems with my drivers seat. After many visits to the dealers, and hours on the phone to Customer services ( I'm sure they could be done under trading standards for using that name ). I finaly gave up, and fitted some after-market Recaro's To say I'm pleased with the end result would be an understatement. I've uploaded a few pics into my gallery for anyone who's interested. Ian.
  20. Almost the exact same route as me........... TTc 225 - Z GT(4)
  21. I didn't know Stevie Wonder had starting a trimming buisness.
  22. The one in fearnhead, ( between the Farmers arms and the college ? ) is just round the corner from me. I flashed / waved a few times ( no response )
  23. I'll keep that in mind next time we do short haul........... As for the Co.car........ think how much tax I'm paying based on the emissions.............. add the tax on fuel ( I pay for my own fuel and do 20k pa) and it feels like I just work for the goverment on a volunteer basis.
  24. Any Friends work for Singapore airlines who can get me an upgrade for Sept. ? Transport Manager for my sins, have been in the industry for 20 odd years. Plus point.........the Zed is my Co. CAR.
