  1. Just got my renewal through - £815 fully comp, with mods declared (but not covering them), 35 years old, no garage, in Liverpool (next post code to Toxteth ). That was with Admiral. Tried Confused.com but every one except Endsleigh don't quote for modded cars on there. Endsleigh quoted £2400 and then had the cheek to call up to see if they could reduce that a bit!!!

Nah no way SLR? Give me the Porsche anyday! (Actually I'd save a few quid and get a Murcie 640. )
  3. I couldn't agree more! Why spare your Z for the next owner? It's such a great car to drive with and it looks so damn good! Me too. The car will lose the best part of 50% over three years whether you drive it or not. I can't see the point of spending most of that time driving a crock.
  4. Feel for you mate (and your business partner and family). Good luck with the sale. (Sorry if this a PH post )
  5. By all accounts the Zed seems to handle mileage well - the engine is designed for 200k miles apparently. I know of one with 80k on it and the only costs have been a couple of clutches and a flywheel. If you can be reasonably confident that this has been looked after, as mentioned above, I would be tempted to take a punt on something like this rather than a JDM of unknown providence. High mileage hammers values and there may well be a fair bit on negotiation left to come on that price. PS Not knocking JDMs, its just that something is known about this particular car.
  6. Nice first post, mate. Welcome aboard as a fully fledged poster!

Very wet but smiling no doubt!
  8. I use the Zed every day - 27k miles in 2 years. I won't use it in the snow or if I think it might snow whilst I'm in work. That has meant I have deliberately left it at home maybe 6 or 7 days in the last 2 years. Frustrating but not a biggie. Problem comes when I want the Micra on he snowy days and so does Kat. No fisticuffs yet.... I did think of buying an old nail a couple of weeks ago for carrying large stuff and days when the weather's bad but really it was just me wanting to have another car in my collection and I had to can the idea on cost grounds.
  9. Wheels and car are looking sweet, mate.
  10. Make sure you get hubcentric ones. Buy from BigPhil and you won't go wrong.
  11. Er, isn't that Zedrush's car? Err you need glasses mate Sorry, pal. I never enlarged the pics from the thumbnails.
  12. Damn! I opened this thread hoping that someone had discovered "Nissan service". Bugger!
  13. Did you get a test drive? as some BMW dealers can be fussy on letting you have a test drive........They like to see if you can afford it first, though a nice sparkly zed outside should be a clue!!!!Been thinking about test driving a Z4m too. I was suited and booted and talking about p/x ing my zed so I'm pretty sure that they knew I could afford it. The problem was that the Z4M was brand new then and getting one as a demo was near impossible. They offered me the 3.0i and would only give it to me for a few hours And they offered my £19k for my zed Typical BMW they offer nothing on any car you p/x even BMW's . Bet yours would have been back on the forcourt for 25k My local dealer would rather gnaw his own arm off than put a Nissan on his forecourt.
  14. Well, I'm delighted they're heat resistant because I just can't stop my plastic ones melting.......
  15. Yeah, lots of urban myths about them but I honestly don't know of anyone who's actually had a problem......
  16. I'm going to cheat and do three : Tiger for a lager Black Sheep for an ale Chimay Bleu for something a bit different
  17. Damn! Have you been letting Tim in on your secret, lad?
  18. I kept my last three cars for 2 years, 15 months and 18 months respectively so I know how you feel. I've now had the Zed for over 2 years which says a lot about the car. 18 months in I was getting a little restless and eyeing up the Z4 Coupe and a couple of others which is why I decided a nice zorst and some 19" wheels would keep up the interest level and get me to the 3 year mark. Seems to have worked for the moment. I did have a wobble (as I do each winter) when the snow came down and I asked myself why I had bought a car I can't use 365 days a year but that soon passes. TBH I would struggle to find another car for less than £30k which ticks all the boxes as an everyday motor with style, performance and individuality.
  19. Strangely it reminds me of the Batmobile in the films....
  20. That's just wrong on every level!
  21. Which one? Greatest hits Have you read "the Dirt"?....so funny Ive read it, and got a signed copy of the new "red, white and crue" album Had it on in the car today (well the ipod) and its awesome!!! Not read it yet but it's on the list. Just love the late 80s stuff they did but its all on tape.....
  22. Stranglers and Magazine! Cool - shot by both sides one of my old faves! I have ipod but with itrip not brilliant sound so also have cd's: Snoop Dogg - blue carpet treatment Jamie Fox - Unpredictable Kanye West - Late Registration and College Dropout Mary J Blige - the breakthrough and a mix of music from my earlier years - siouxsie and banshess, bauhaus, killing joke, sisters of mercy, B52's, echo and the bunnymen, Blondie Someone who has heard of Magazine. Shot by Both Sides never gets old for me. Made my day Nixy.......sad I know Hey, I remember Magazine! Weren't they made up of members of a couple of other punk/new wave bands? Buzzcocks split and reformed with Pete Shelley on lead vocals when Howard Devoto left to form Magazine. The keyboard player was with Visage and Ultravox briefly I think Digsy. Wasn't there also a guy called John McGeoch (or something like that) who went on to play with the Banshees and have a nervous breakdown? IIRC they then had to draft in Robert Smith from The Cure.
