  1. I'm not disagreeing but I've never had any personal experience of high end performance tyres and presumed that there would be some where you got what you paid for.
  2. Pardon I appreciated that Trev!
  3. Now the fun starts! I've got the Falkens and I'm very pleased with them but was tickled that your mate with the Merc buys budget performance tyres - I'm sure they're not what AMG had in mind!
  4. Why does "The UK's Largest Mazda Dealer" have this????
  5. - whats the point! As I said, it's for a laugh! Really, some of you do lack a sense of humour at times! That poor Scirocco has never had so many people look at it in the 20 years it's been on the road until now. The best part about it, is that you can go somewhere like Le Mans and seriously get more looks in a car that cost £50 to put together, than you would if you were in a car worth 10,000 times that!!!! If seeing a stupid looking VW dressed as a Deloreon makes someones day and they end up having a laugh with their friends about it, then it's all worth it, isn't it?! You have to remember, this car isn't someones pride and joy, it's an absolute pi$$ take brought on by most of the chavmobiles you see on our roads who are owned by people who are deadly serious about their ripspeed LEDS and primer coloured bodykits!!!! And why not do it??? Check out the ebay auction, and you'll see that they stand to make quite a bit of money out of it! Not too stupid IMO Seems like a laugh to me. I can fully understand the reason for building it and for taking it to Le Mans. Where I struggle is why anyone would want it afterwards - clearly your pals don't!
  6. Nice car at a nice price but I'm not committed enough to go all that way to see it. They reckon the Roadster doesn't handle as well but I doubt a numpty like me would notice the difference.
  7. I think you've hit the nail on the head, Mark. If you write for a magazine or drive supercars at 11/10ths all the time you might find the Vantage a touch disappointing without the Prodrive kit. However, most normal mortals will find it a fantastic car.
  8. I'm very tempted but its almost here and I've done sod all about it.
  9. Erhmmm i think i have to step in here and clarify something Nissan and Renault are NOT the same company... they are an ALLIANCE , where the best of each is shared to ensure the highest value is provided to the end user... ( no one rules over the other... and no one has a say in each others business, but they share resources to improve efficiencies.) So Nissan can give presence to Renault outside of Europe, share technology ( V6 engines , petrol engines, 4WD, Off road know how etc as well as reliability standards...) and Renault can give competitive suppliers, diesel technology, and cost reductions through bulk Both can share developments which will end up as different and synergetic products... So not the same... I just though I clarify this for the sake of anyone working for Nissan in this forum.... Jeee i can talk some babble... I am under impression also that the VQ- is a Nissan developed, series of engines, which I though was sourced by Renault for the VelSatis, not the other way round... That was my understanding of the VQ - designed by Nissan and used by Renault, not the other way round. I thnk Kev knows that anyway.....
  10. The Gallardo sounded amazing on that DVD Have to say, watching the way they are sliding those supercars on public roads (presumably closed before anyone pipes up ) I have a new found respect for Sutters, Harris & Co.
  11. Just because the dimensions are smaller, that doesn't mean that the engine will be! The Z33 is a bit of a lard ass afterall! You only have to do a bit of digging on the net to see what technology is new on other Nissan products in Japan and the US to get you thinking what engine, chassis, etc... might be used on the next gen zed. So we're looking at a smaller, lighter, but just as powerful, next gen Zed that handles better than a Cayman. That'll do for me!
  12. Most mags seem to rate it at the definitive hot hatch of the moment (well this week at least) but please tell me you didn't go with the decals! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Have fun!
  13. Completely agree mate, for me..... if I had that sort of money to spend, it would be the Gallardo EVERY TIME! btw, did anyone see bloody Gordon Ramsey again this week on F word. Driving a bloody Ferrari 599 the other week as a "delivery" vehicle and this week going to a farmers in Scotland in a Gallardo spider yeah Flash Barstool!! i'll dream keep dreaming.. Saw a 599 parked up in Milan on Saturday (a fews cars down from the 612 and before the F430 ) and it looked absolutely stunning. Pictures can't do justice to what a good-looking, purposeful motor this really is. Shame I never heard it run....
  14. Are they gold-plated?
  15. Can't see it being "common as muck at £85k!! I know 3 people who are taking delivery of theirs in August My problem is that I've never desired an Audi like I have a Lamborghini I really don't think they're direct competitors - there's still quite a price difference. The Audi's for people who would buy Porsches or Jags, who want the most efficient, reliable and practical day to day sports car. Lambos are an emotional purchase like Ferraris and Astons. The NSX was a great car but few people "desired" a Honda supercar either.
  16. Was it the first roadster you've seen in the flesh? I saw a GM Roadster today, roof up because it was raining, and I couldn't get over how badly the roof seems to fit. It was all gappy as it curved around the side window. I know its probably watertight which is why I say "seems" but frankly it looks sh!te. I can't think of any car in its price range (or indeed any car on sale today, Caterhams excepted) with such a shoddy hood. Bear in mind this was an 07 (not MY07) Zed in perfect nick. I've fancied an open top for ages and was trying convince myself that a Zed Roadster with my wheels and Nismo zorst would be a better idea than buying a non-Zed but I just don't think I can cope with the top-up looks. Why produce a car as beautiful as the coupe and when you lop the top off saddle it with a lumpy-bumpy hunchback hood and a fat arse? Sorry if I've offended the Roadster owners on here - its only my opinion of course!
  17. Sold out to 2009 and with good reason. Autocar were very complimentary too and the DVD they gave away last week when they tested it with a Gallardo Superleggera, DB9 and a Veyron is well worth a watch. I saw it in the flesh in Geneva and trust me no-one is going to mistake it for a Titty. It's certainly not my idea of a pretty car but very striking.
  18. These mystery threads are intriguing for a few pages but you can cross the line into boring quite easily, guys.....
  19. Last week there was a big pic of an NSX Parade. Has anyone sent them pics from Silverstone?
