  1. I had thought about a different colour - not sure if it will ruin the 'lines' of the car - if you know what I mean! Ant idea how much a roof respray would cost? bearing in mind there is no blending needed...?? Try a PM to shire350z - he's done this in black on a GM and it looks - IMHO, of course!
  2. We need a little write up with pics in the Guides section. Anyone want to oblige?

    Needs a little lowering, mate.
  4. Excuse for a black roof respray!
  5. Remove. Always my least favourite part of the car.

Do you want to be the first in the UK, or the first in the world? I think I was the first in the UK with mine and they came from Envy so a bit of research could get you there. To be first in the world may require more effort... First in UK, I think the first in the world has already gone..... PM the first in the world then.

    10" rear with a +20 offset, 9" front with +18 - not lowered though.

It also depends who you get them off. Someone like Phil or Adam should be able to steer you right.

Not so sure about that. Rubbing will be down to width/offset combo of wheel and tyre together, not diameter as you should be keeping that the same.

Easy - pick a wheel and then do your research on the American sites. You'll find that very few wheels don't already have a what size/offset thread over there. Except perhaps Dotz..... I'm no expert but I know a bit so you could PM me or post in the Team section?

I had 9" front and 10" rear with 245 front and 275 rear. What you must be careful of is rubbing which won't be a problem if you leave the suspension but could be if you drop. I'd would be very careful with any offset of less than say +22 if you go for a wide 9.5/10.5 combo. Tyre sizes will make a difference as will the amount of any drop. Best idea is to select a wheel or two and then ask the question as there is no hard and fast rule which suits all wheels.
  13. +1 As there are no power gains to be had its entirely subjective. The only other issue is your budget. No power gains but you can have power loss. Fair point. Torque loss on decatted exhausts and to a lesser extent true duals seems to be the bigger problem.
  14. Awesome! The sound and gearchange reminds me of a video game. I hadn't realised the driver can take a sneaky peek on how he's doing on that last long straight. I bet a few have done that and then pushed too hard on those last few corners.... BTW did they use the "pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey" method for siting those air vents....

  16. I agree that the front could be more aggressive. Back is the same as the Nismos so OK but all a matter of taste. Have to be careful though with lowering as may get some rubbing. That's why, whilst I respect anyone who wants to be different, picking a wheel that other owners have some experience of is far safer.
  17. Wow, not what I was expecting at all. The only Weds wheels I've seen on Zeds are the Weds Sport range.
  18. Weds - nice! Which ones and who from?
  19. Ah recognise that one from Pistonheads. We like the red ones here!

  21. Ah a joint intro post - how sweet! Anyway, welcome guys! David, as said above, unless you can find a very high mileage UK car its imports for you on that budget. However, have a good mooch around the site - I honestly can't remember anyone saying they regretted getting an import and wouldn't recommend it. Usual stuff applies - higher insurance for imports but apparently lower road tax. The JDM forum is you friend. Paul, if you've fallen in love with the Zed for its looks you're more than halfway there and the rest is unlikely to disappoint. The tactile quality of the interior isn't up to Porsche/BMW/Audi standards but it doesn't fall apart and they're pretty sturdy mechanically. The drive is fantastic - lots of grunt and some grin-inducing rear while drive handling. The only people who've shown some mild disappointment are Scooby/Evo owners who seem to miss the rush of the turbo but they soon seem to get used to the more linear power delivery. Again have a mooch round and get a feel for things. There are few questions that haven't been asked before.
