  1. That one's out the window then - I was done for 88 in a 70 on the M4 last year. No roadworks in sight!! Andy, normally when there is a camera covering each lane it's Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) which as your mates say, is used for checking for valid tax discs and insurance etc. There are normally police bikes and cars parked up nearby for the "pull" phase of the operation. I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong!!
  2. I can't believe that fat **** earns £630k. I'm witholding my licence fee in protest.
  3. I saw this mentioned on one of the US sites and thought "What a load of old cobblers!" After washing the car, rinse without the spray attachment, just use the end of the hose and work from the top of the car down. It takes less than half as long to dry it off afterwards. I rinsed half with the spray and half with the hose end and took some pics. Here's one. Apologies to those who do this anyway.
  4. There's not much to see really. The control box sits behind the heater controls. The sound is deafening when static but is perfect when moving. My electronics fella is going to do a little bit of jiggery pokery to sort the volume levels, then I'll offer the loom adapter etc to forum members. P.S. Val, don't be so bloody impatient!! Tee hee.
  5. I have this fitted in my car. A wiring loom adapter can be used between the stereo and the Parrot control unit so that the unit is effectively plug and play. (I am waiting for a price for the loom adaptor for any forum member that might be after one.) The mic clips on to the A pillar cover and the display can be mounted in a variety of different places to suit the driver. I'll post some pics later in the week.
  6. I'm now past caring guys. I will just continue to enjoy both forums and will avoid getting drawn into actually giving a toss about stuff like this. It isn't worth it.
  7. Dorian, didn't mean to sound so harsh. Seeing one of the site moderators being so flippant made me spit nails. There is nothing that I would like more than a happy thriving, joint community. As I said in my earlier post, we all have something in common.
  8. Why perpetuate the "us and them" rubbish? You play here, I play here as well so what!? You offer a free service and experience and I use the site, they charge for the right to use the members section and I choose to pay and use that site as well. This rubbish just demeans the whole forum idea in my opinion.
  9. Hallo! Chubbylover here! Sorry to you guys that I haven't yet made myself a regular contributor to your site, but I find that I can hardly keep up with looking at one site, let alone two. On reflection, you might be breathing a sigh of relief about that!!! Anyway - just to let you know that I (a VERY IMPORTANT MODERATOR) have absolutely NO BAD BLOOD to anyone on this site. WTF - the only time I ever met Val, at Rockingham, just before your Italy trip, you were really nice to me - a newbie at the time - and I have always appreciated it. As far as I'm concerned, why can't there be links between the two groups - we've all got a common interest. However, I think Nikos knew exactly what he was doing and wanted to stir a bit of @*!# - Go Nikos!!! Might make an effort to pop in here from time to time, if you're lucky!!! Cheers G I apologise to everyone on this site if in anyway, I have been responsible for Slim (aka Chubbylover) , posting here. Sorry.
  10. Why can't we all just get along? Make lurve not war! Seriously, this is pathetic. Not blaming anyone as I don't know the ins and outs of it all but in my experience it really isn't that hard to get along. There's absolutely no need for this "us and them" mentality. I am a paid up member on the other site and I like the feeling of belonging that I get from that. I also visit this site most days and post occasionally, this is also a great site (and free before someone else says it) and there is a wealth of good info here and some extremely knowledgable guys. Both sites have their advantages, so why the bad blood? It makes no sense to me - we all share a common interest! It stinks.
  11. That's revolting! Before breakfast as well!! It's nature though M13KYF!! Amazing rather than disturbing.
  12. If the spanner monkey damaged the wheel then I would be getting a new wheel and billing them for it - why should you have to be out of pocket??
  13. Swiss company I think Val. I don't read Swissish but the website is http://www.novidem.ch/
  14. Jacko! Sorry to invade what seems to be not only a NW thread but an Azure love in!! Enjoy the car! (I like them in blue)
  15. Hello Yorky, go to "Edit your profile" and scroll down to upload an avater - simple as that. Edit: DOH!! That's just tha avatar stoopid.
  16. Thanks guys, not impressed with the pic though, was taken with a fishseye lens I think - I'm really not that ugly!! Some people say I look OK!!
  17. Indeedy. I haven't driven my car since January 25th and will not be getting back into the drivers seat until April 15th. It posed a few problems for insurance purposes at Brands - God bless The Sunday Times! I never dreamed that I would miss it soooooooo much.
  18. A few of you are already aware that this was coming up. A few weeks ago, I had a call from a journalist from The Sunday Times "Driving" section. They had been told by Playstation that I was the UK Gran Turismo IV champion (The first I had heard of it but obviously a follow on from winning the car) "Would I be interested in going head to head against Tiff Needell to see if being good at a game can help you on the track?" I damn near took her arm orft! We did a full day at Brands Hatch on the 20th of last month and the article is due to appear this Sunday. (You will all find out about my driving ban as well!!) I can't really say what the result was but what I can say is that it was closer than you may imagine. (And I had the most fantastic day - twas the day before my Birthday - what a pressie!)
