  1. Hi Paul and Welcome. I have the same Roadster and you won't be disapointed, modifications will soon take over you life !
  2. Welcome aboard, The standard wheels are 18" but you can go upto 20" (but the weight is increase a little) Most guys go for the 19" light weight wheels. What part of the UK are you from.
  3. Just Got Back From JapFest (i know i have only been there for 2 hours but need to get to London) Took lots of pictures and will post them when next at my computer (Tue night) Talked to a real nice couple in a Import, and they have fitted a new head unit to the Bose system, ( took pictures) They said they will drop by and tell us how they did it, as it took some wiring. It was well smart DVD, TV, Sat NAV, IPOD, Touch Screen for around a grand.
  4. Hope the wife not out and about, (the cats away)
  5. I would just t-cut it back and polish it with a colour coded polish, if your finger nail can feel a grove you will need to have it sprayed. Looking at the pictures most should t-cut out.

  8. Mike is only 65 miles from you, and always offers to fit so you can see, As the weight, Yes each wheel is 15% more than standard, but the ride is not affected, you can drive mine if you want and you will see no difference, agreed you will see a difference if you track the car but i have the standard wheels for that.

    import grade

    Grade 5 is as new, Grade 4 is scratches (small) Grade 3 is large scratched and small dents Mine was a 4 the car had a wheel that had been kerbed £40 to repair and a small scratch £60 to repair. I would not worry over a 4 as the cars are better looked after than in the UK, my body work was as good as a new car when i got to see it.

  13. With JDM’s Good points You don’t have to take off your mods ever time you visit a Nissan dealer (warrantee void) Your starting price is just above the young Scooby drivers can afford, so when you sell for less you can sell into a new market. You can drive a car that most people think you paid 30% more for. You can rip out the crap Bose system and put in a modern sexy system without the feeling that you have just paid £1000 for it. Your Insurance is the same as UK cars (with some companies) 2 to 3 year old JDM cars are lower mileage (at point of import) than UK cars (they change cars in Japan more often and drive more for status and fun than distance) Bad points Your rear bumper has the lorry square number plate You have Japanese stickers stuck to the underside of the sun visor (and wont come off) that looks like a takeaway menu. The Bose system on radio works but stations are not written on the read out (like a 15 year old system) Sat Nav does not work, but if you could get it to work it would guide you only to Pear Harbor You carry the risk of not having any warrantee (you can take out insurance at £500 per year) Dealers won’t take them in part exchange for the new 06 model
  14. No the JDM does not have an alarm fitted in Japan, and the minimum requirement for SVA is an imobilizer in the uk. you will need to check with the company who put the car through SVA if they fitted an Alarm as most companies do it at the same time as the Imobilizer (mine did) To check if you are alarmed sit in the car and get someone to lock it. Wait for a few minutes and move around inside and lastly open the door from inside, if no sound then no alarm!
  15. you need to fit a delimiter that will allow you to go higher than 117 MPH, they are fitted by cutting and joining 4 wires and cost around £150, you cant just cut wires as the car needs feedback.
  16. Or could you upgrade to the Nismo side skirts (on Ebay at £80 a set) It could be you upgrade and end up with a better looking car.
  17. (It doesn't hurt to take a hard look at yourself from time to time, and this should help get you started) During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director what the criterion was which defined whether or not a patient should be institutionalized. "Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub." "Oh, I understand," said the visitor. "A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup." "No," said the Director, "A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?"
  18. I got off my last two camera fines but the first was through luck, With both I did not answer the 28 days notice to name the driver. The first time they then took me to court under failure to name the driver, and I sent in a copy saying this is the second copy I have sent to you, they then said if I admit the offence then it would go back to speeding but this went over the 6 months so I could not be prosecuted. The second time I did the same and I heard nothing (South Wales)
