  1. 1k trown at cheapo wheels is like 1k thrown in the bin
  2. yeah yeah. Anyway cheapo wheels cheapen the Z
  3. ! actually remember: squeaky seat gearbox clicking noise boot struts that's all I had in 2.5 years
  4. you had to repaint your spokes as they were flaking already, even though you used your car for what, 200 miles?
  5. woooo man hold your horses. I am the bargain hunter par excellence, but cheap wheels are just that, I'm afraid. cast vs forged is the first sign. Forged > cast process hands down. A little research will show you I'm correct.
  6. not another cheapo wheel man!!! :teeth:
  7. Just a bit.... in the Japtrix map the rev limiter is set to 6800 rpm! and reading jaysen's original post when he got it tuned, westpak (the Japtrix guy who tuned it) said there was no need for the initial 7500rpm limit! and he lowered it to 6800... Jaysen's car had a borla true dual on as well, hi flows intake and aps plenum. he gained about 18whp iirc. Not too bad
  8. speedferries tickets: 8th june departs 10.50am and coming back 23rd june 9.50am Dover-boulogne-dover £65 2 people and car. Awesome price, I shall be booking in the next couple of weeks accomodation wise, apart from the weekend with the Z club where I shall be staying at the campsite with them (in a mobile home though, no tents for debbie ) after that I will be wanting to stay in B&B's mostly, and will do some research closer to the time.
  9. yeah anyone in the manchester area really ought to check them out, they price match service prices too, speak to Dave the Service manager last when you found the best price in the area, and he'll match it if not beat it! also tell em about this club as they know everything about it by now same people who did my gearbox under warranty btw
  10. In Ashton under lyne did a couple of jobs under warranty for me last week, just thought I'd throw my recommendation as they sorted my boot struts (boot finally stays open! ) and the rear clicking noise. Had to take my skirts off in advance due to clearance issues for their ramps, but apart from that it was all sorted under warranty
  11. and I broke my speedracing front lip on the way back off it... and my Z wasn't lowered then can't take the Thurdsay off as I'll be on a course, so most prob will have to pass on your kind offer mate and do a 1 dayer drive
  12. looks really good! did you ned any adaptor for the oem speakers, or did you change them too?
  13. go down to Racho Cucamonga or whatever it's called and visit GT Motorsports, they are THE 350Z engine builders. Should be interesting
  14. it's ok we are not going to be at the Ring that weekend We'll be in the Loire valley with the Z club guys Anyway I booked holidays already, I think it's time to sort some ferries speedferries are going to be the cheapest most probably. Just worried about the ramps  Planning on driving down on friday 8th June, all the way to the Loire valley. It's about 5 hrs from the coast so if i get a ferry at about 10 or 11am , should be plenty of time. That would mean VERY early departure from the NW, but it's ok
  15. never too late mate, just take one off
  16. I thought about them, but they are miles away from me I would like to find a decent tuner willing to learn the utec (mind you the software itself is easy enough for me to understand, it's just a matter of "knowing" exactly what the parameters do etc, hence you need a professional Also thought about Thor (they are now UK official UTEC distributors BUT I'm quite sure they haven't done any Z anyway, so it's exactly the same as going to someone else. They are also rather far from me. I think I'll be giving Paul @ TDI North a ring, to see what he thinks about my idea
  17. yeah mate Josh @ tech told me the cable to get, a usb b male to a a male, or something like that
  18. well in theory you could do that, if you had the map for all the mods you have, then the new map to include the mod you do afterwards. In practice every car is different, so really a remap should be done by a tuner who knows what he's doing
  19. post a pic with the tyres on the scale please, and inflated if you can! that'd be interesting. PS I'd suggest you don't put them on the Z if you drive it daily, with this type of weather and salt on the roads.... that lip is going to take some proper battering if you do
  20. I have been playing with the UTEC today. I powered it with a 9V battery (it has a useful power socket in the back, so it doesn't have to be in the car to play with the interface, maps, parameters etc). One thing struck me right away: my laptop hasn't got the serial port needed to connect it to the UTEC! thankfully my PC does, but it's something that will have to be sorted, my laptop has got a couple of USB ports, and a printer port, as well as phone socket and network socket, wonder if some other type of cable with different end can be bought for it. Interface seems straightforward enough, it has the 2.3 software loaded on it (old one, they are now at 2.8d) as well as the map from Japtrix for Jaysen's car and some tweaked parameters. I have practiced with saving the map and parameter files on the PC, with no issues. I have also uploaded another couple of maps (NA of course) that I had collected from the US sites, of users with similar mods to mine. The setup of the hyperterminal connection was ok, no problems there either. Now it needs to be put on the car, and need to find a tuner willing to learn the utec and tweak the existing maps to suit my car!
  21. 1 of: sunset Nismoed near Old Trafford 1 of: blade stock Altringham 1 of: chilli stock Sale I was the skirtless dirty azure
  22. yes. Nonfoulers should help you. hard to describe what they are, they are like "extensions" to your o2 sensors in your test pipes. A search on 350zmotoring should help even more with pics and how-to's
