Obviously Ive started my hunt around for the next car. And the only thing that Im seriously looking at is a MKIV Supra. More power than the Zed, but getting a 10-15 year old car will be a strange experience as the interior doesnt live up to the Zed or the RX8 I had before. But the benefit it that its infinitely more moddably. I'll be buying almost standard and doing my usual "built not bought" and making it unique like only I can I will ALWAYS miss my Zed though

So long as the plate doesnt make the Zed look newer than it actually is I cant see a problem with it. Although not sure if you could get "another" plate issued for the Rex. You'd likely need to supply a new private reg for the Rex and put the current one on retainer before tranfering it to the Zed. Your local DVLA office would be able to answer better if you gave them a quick ring.

A diff intake/filter wont give you any power gains. The ECU will dial the engine back down to 309bhp (for the HR engine) within a few hours.

Ive got the Nismo Dual Intake on mine. Never noticed any issues with heat soak. The filters get really minging though as they are cloth and need to be cleaned regular.

I can't believe Im about to post this. Without giving out a sob story, I basically took a massive pay cut late last year so that I no longer had to work away from home for 3-4 months at a time. You should try owning an Alfa mate... all you ever get is how unreliable they are and expensive and oil thirsty and blah blah blah. I did 240K miles in mine with NO breakdowns or faults ever (except when a stone went through the rad). I feel for you. I had my Rex for 4 years, without any issues. EVERY time you tell someone you had one you get the "oh they drink oil like its going outta fashion, blah blah blah". My gf used to have a GTV and had no probs AT ALL for the 14 months she owned it.

Is it a brand new one? ie the R3 model? Alot of the niggles of the older cars have been sorted. If its 2nd hand, a few things to look for.... Engine mounts - had a habit of rusting through on older cars. Oil cooling pipes, almost impossible to see from engine bay, but look for rust drive over a few speed bumps, listen for banging from the rear arches - drop links had a habit of breaking. Drop me a PM if you wanna know anything else And as for the oil stories. I am sick to bloody death of hearing stupidly exagerated claims of them drinking more oil than petrol etc etc. A wankel engine if different to a convetional piston engine. Thus it requires more oil, so fecking what. I used on average 1 liter every 1000-1200 miles, and I drove it like I stole it. Until people have actually owned a car themselves, I wish they would restrain from slating them using comments based on hearsay, and other people wild claims. Im sure if people started making wild claims about owning a Zed you'd all be first to get your backs up.......

To sum this up..... Laura's cousin has just put a huge plastic/chrome effect badge like that on the back of his ba****dised Mark IV Astra!

The box on a Zed can feel a little notchy compared to some other marques. My missus is always complaining that she cant do a smooth change from 2nd to 3rd. I just tell her its her driving....
