Less of a intro and more of a nosey question - who bought this Skyline? I know the first owner and importer and would love first dibs on buying it - if you ever decide to sell.
Nissan Skyline - MH07 HGP
I watched this video of Calvin's a couple of weeks back. I managed to resist calling him and taking it off his hands!

Interesting read. I had no idea that the evolution went so far back.

Well the Z was chosen for track display. I guess nobody else applied?

Please check out the video at the start, the Conti is currently the best UHP on the market
Sorry Davey, I should have been clearer, I meant to say discussed or rated in general chat on the forum.

Nobody ever seems to mention the Continental options. I thought they were up there on a similar level to the Michelins.

Due to recent water shortages I've not washed any of our cars for nearly three months - completely unheard of for me. There was never a hospipe ban in our area, but it would probably have been a bit antisocial to be seen using one. The Z, being white, never appeared to look dirty, just dusty, but today the hose came out and spent a good couple of hours washing and detailing it - what a difference, it has its shine back!

Had this beauty in today for its mot! Good thing it’s clean as hell! Passed with flying colours! @Jamah_zed
What a stunning Z...!!
And it has what the V2 Nismo is missing - a proper wing!

The revival of this thread has reminded me again to get shot of the fuse, despite mine being a late model. I wince every time I push the start button and hear the sound of the lock releasing!

Great stuff, thanks. I'm not a mad driver in the Z but there are "moments" when I do wonder if things could be a little better than OEM.
Plus, thinking ahead to next year, I will be giving it a good workout at a couple of tracks next year - that's the main reason for asking. Scott at Abbey recently told me that they've been using/fitting the Hawk DBA pads for many years now, so that's a good recommendation in itself I suppose.

I will let you know how they feel. Just debating if to get them done now. Or wait till I bang the 4 new MPSS on ? Thinking new anchors with the new boots.
How did you get on with the Hawk pads?

Bump. Would be interested in opinions as well.

We were going to go along this morning, but it was absolutely lashing down! Maybe next week.

Yes same widths for non OEM replacement wheels, that's why I wanted to get confirmation that the RAYS widths, offsets, PCD and centre bore dimensions are correct.
-
I'm sure it's correct, but I can't recall where I got the info from. Can someone confirm that it's correct please?
Front rims 9.5jj & ET 47
Rear rims 10.5jj & ET 30
Centre bore 66.1 mm
PCD 5 X 114.3 (5 X 4.5)
Therefore, because I'm running 15mm spacers all round now with the RAYS, to have the same set up and appearance without the spacers with different wheels I need to drop from 47 to 32 and 30 to 15 for the ETs?
Any guidance welcome - thanks!

Two blazing hot summers and my wrapped headlights haven't oxidised at all after their last correction.
Spoke to many members now who get amazing results after polishing only to be disheartened after a year as it hazes back.
@veeg33had a few years success getting a shop to respray clearcoat on but even this started to fail after a few years.
If you plan on keeping the zed for any length of time........ DON'T do what I did for 5 years and try different sealants or ceramic coatings.
WRAP FOR THE WIN
I might talk to the guys who wrapped my roof about this. Is it a particular type of clear film for headlight lenses?

Bit late to the party here, but on the subject of headlight restoration I was told a few weeks back that Solvol Autosol metal polish works a treat. My Z's headlights don't need it, but our Aygo did - it was getting misty around the edges so I thought I'd try it out.
Result? A pretty much perfect restoration, topped off with some 303 for future protection.

Which Z do you have and what colour?
Just in case there are more than two Zeds there!
