  1. Hi folks, I found a split in my exhaust just before the back box (see pics). I've been toying with getting an aftermarket exhaust but never been too fussed. As a side note, I expected there to be a flange where that split is but I guess I got confused. I'm now weighing up the options, since I'm not sure a weld would hold too nicely on that. Second hand OEM exhausts I suppose are a good option but I was looking at these Megan Racing y-pipe back options on Torquen: https://www.torqen.uk/nissan/350z/exhausts/exhaust-systems/29326-350z-megan-racing-black-series-y-pipe-back-exhaust-system-mr-cbs-350z-oeb.html https://www.torqen.uk/nissan/350z/exhausts/exhaust-systems/29328-350z-megan-racing-mr-cbs-350z-srt-stainless-tip-y-pipe-back-exhaust-system-mr-cbs-350z-srt.html https://www.torqen.uk/nissan/350z/exhausts/exhaust-systems/29329-350z-megan-racing-mr-cbs-350z-vo-350z-burnt-roll-tip-exhaust-system-mr-cbs-350z-vo.html They all look to be the same system inside to me? What's the deal with the black edition? Might be a bit too hot I suppose, in which case I'd got the middle price option. Has anybody had any experience with these systems? I don't want to go any quieter than stock. I'm aware you get what you pay for, but I don't need performance - just something that isn't going to be worse than the OEM version!
  2. Anyone else braving the campsite for this? Thinking I might regret that after last night's temperatures.

  4. In fairness, I had to sit very lightly on the throttle but I averaged 33mpg at about 70/75! Was quite surprised actually.
  5. GTR plate to be precise! Sadly, the dealer changed from a family one to a western and I didn't get a front ate at the time so they're now mis-matched 🙃
  6. Still looking alright after 450 miles of dusty motorway - and as a bonus I got the whole thing done with a quarter tank to go!

  8. Managed to get some remarkably sunny snaps in for January in Scotland
  9. Got spotted by Tartan Tarmac at Caffeine and Machine, wish I could take photos as nice!
  10. 700/1400 miles in to my trip back home (including driving while here and back again), gave her a half way wash today.
  11. Hi and welcome! I just had the same problem as you. We tried master first, it was grubby so honed it out but no fix. Tried the hose next and no joy, but a new csc made it feel like a brand new car. If you need to get the clutch working to get it somewhere, I found if it fails while driving quickly but finely pumping the pedal at the start of any resistance helps get some fluid back to the correct side of the cylinder, eventually building pressure.
  12. Confirmed as the csc today so it'll be getting a clutch and if I can convince my dad it's worth it a flywheel, needs banana arms too. Plenty time though, probably going to have to leave it at home in Scotland till September. Enterprise it is for the journey home 🙃
  13. I did yes, and I knew the clutch was on its way so was anticipating it eventually. The oil pressure is good when driving as far as I can see when I look, sits at about 60ish driving normally, lowest it goes is 45ish when I'm cruising and very light on throttle at 60mph in 5th, sits about 10 to 15 when warm at idle. I'll ask them to check it that's a good point though. I knew these weren't cheap to maintain when I started looking, and as much as it sucks I intend to have the car a long time so am prepared to do what it needs.
  14. Eye watering but I knew it was needing dome eventually.. just didn't expect it to be within the first 2 weeks of owning it!
  15. Would probably serve me better than the current one!
  16. Thank you! I left a voicemail this morning with their landline, but I wondered if they'll be taking the bank holiday weekend off. I'll see what comes of the voicemail!
  17. I was wondering what a rough estimate for hdev work to do a 350z clutch is? Website says £330 approx. including flywheel but I assume this is just labour? I expect a big bill from anyone for that kind of job. Basically, put my 08 HR in reverse yesterday and the pedal is stuck down, the car stalled and I have no pedal. Reservoir is full.
  18. Horsham's website quotes roughly £330 for clutch and flywheel, am I correct to assume this is labour only?
  19. Thanks guys, will see if I can get some progress started today!
  20. So I've had today what I suspect is the fabled master/slave cylinder failure (was reverse parking at home, car started to stall then did stall, clutch pedal stuck in but clutch fully engaged in reverse) and wanted to pick some more experienced brains. The fluid reservoir is a nasty colour but it is full (attached). I did hear, about 40 mins prior when driving between tight walls (echo-y), a small momentary hiss almost like a release of pressure when in 1st. Thought this might be AC turning off when opening throttle, it may be entirely unrelated to the clutch for all I know. I fortunately have AA home start and National Recovery. My firs thought would be get the master cylinder done at home (since no leak suggests not slave?), failing that I have a few options and wanted to know what people think: 1. Get it taken to local garage and get both MC and SC changed. 2. Get it taken to Horsham Developments (I'm in Chippenaham) and get those two plus Clutch/flywheel while I'm there? 3. Get it taken back up to Edinburgh where I was taking it next week, to my Dad who is a part time mechanic at Nissan (knows his stuff but is far away). It needs banana arm bushes and some bits and bobs so he was going to do those anyway. Goes without saying my preferred option is no.3 and I'll likely go with what my dad thinks is the best but I really want to know if anyone knows much about the AA cover. Does anyone have any experience? Would they take the car to Edinburgh or Horsham? I know it says recovery to anywhere but since I'm at home I don't know if that will apply. Gutted since I've inly had the car a week and a half, and the clutch fluid wasn't that nasty from memory but maybe I messed up checking it. Cheers.
  21. Brilliant reply thank you so much for the info! I was struggling to find much guidance on the labour times, seems to be quite standard then. Will definitely check out the video.
  22. Can I ask what you were charged for gearbox oil and Molyslip? I am getting mine (brand new to me) MOT/inspected on Tuesday and considering asking them to do what you did as they're under there anyway. Is it something you need pre-arrange do you think?
  23. Looking through this, saw a comment in here about being able to turn off the boot latch? Mine doesn't open from the outside (the button doesn't seem to work) and I assumed gubbed actuator, but could this be the case that it's been switched off?!
  24. Thanks, likely I've gotten away with it then! In for an MOT and check over on Tuesday so will find out I suppose.
