  1. Cheers Col! So even if I was to find a place that can do it, I can expect the price to be pretty high then. What about wrapping? Apologies for my ignorance but I'm a bit of a noobie when it comes to this type of stuff! Surely wrapping could be a bit cheaper and easier to do?
  2. Hi all, Just wondering if any of you have had the above done? Rough cost and if there are recommendations to go and get it done? I'm thinking hydrodipping because I don't really want to fork out for a proper carbon one . Thanks in advance. Eroll
  3. I am happy with the way it looks, seen 1 or 2 pics on the interwebs, it really brings the colour to life. I do like a debadge bumper, any pics? I like carbon fibre, thinking of getting my bonnet carbon fibre dipped to go with my carbon eyelids, looks slightly weird in certain light, with the blue of the bonnet catching the carbon. It's only my second JapFest but I'm looking forward to it just as much as my first one! Nice one! Will definitely keep an eye out for you. Whereabouts in Essex are you? Maybe we can try and arrange a meeting point beforehand with a couple of others and roll in together? Will make for a good picture.

  5. Interested in attending the meet, I have only previously attending via the public ticket entrance, when booking, do I need to buy a club ticket or a public ticket but also purchase a display car add on? It shows that I need a password to login to get a club entry? Apologies if this is such a basic question but just want to be sure. If I do need a password, could someone DM me with it please?? Thanks Eroll
  6. Exactly, each to their own, but to be fair, I have seen a night blue with white badges and white wheels and it looked incredibly gorgeous, which is why I am getting white wheels soon, so will spray the badges to see if they match, if not, they will most likely be coming off the car. What colour are you hydro dipping the badges to? I do plan on going, but need to sign up to go as part of the group stand, would love to be part of that, went in my Civic Type R last year and it was amazing. Haha we do indeed, rare colour my friend, need to stay stronger together . Have you signed up to go as part of the group?
  7. I'm 25 and have had my Z for just under a year now, and I think running 2 cars would be a bit of bank drainer. I think the main thing to do as rabbitstew said would be to look for a good example rather than buying 2 , you'll obviously pay more but in the long run, it'll save you money. The main thing for me was insurance, and because I have a 2008 model, being the higher tax bracket, had to pay that much more for it, but at the end of the day, I enjoy driving it so the costs don't come into it really. Like any car, there will be expenses that you'll need to adjust for but if you are willing to pay it, then you won't feel too bad for doing so, the amount of heads that turn when I drive by still makes me know that I have a special car, you don't see many 350's so it is a bit of a unicorn car. I haven't looked back since buying mine, and if you are planning a few mods to it, it'll make you enjoy it even more because it will be yours in your own style. Dream cars are like heros, if you meet them, you could be very disappointed or completely overwhelmed with joy, I think in this case, it will be the latter, any road, any conditions, they are a hoot to drive, nice knowing you have that power to enjoy it or just cruising on the motorway comfortably. I also reckon soon to be starting to raise in value for a nice clean Z, could be verging on future classic. If you can afford it comfortably, I'd say go for it! Let us know how you get on! Eroll
  8. Sounds good mate. I'm just making it easy for myself, I'm looking at buying a stock front bumper that has been debadged and had the bumper holes filled. Quite like the look of the clean front end with no badge.
  9. Don't think it will get rid of it all but it will certainly make it look a lot better, I saw a stock height one and it made me realise how much it actually lowered mine. Sound like a good plan bud, best to way to do it. Doing it right the first time saves a lot of time later on down the line. Oh them bumper holes!!!! They make the bumper look so ugly I think, I have a JDM style front plate that covers the holes so I'm happy, am thinking of getting a new bumper with the holes filled in so I can have my plate offset. There is a way of filling the holes properly but I'm not 100% sure on how to do it, there is a thread on here I think if you fancy a gander.
  10. Haha no worries! That's a sensible drop, still functional, mines on Tein S Tech lowering springs, aprox 1.5 inch drop, really sorts the look of the car, especially when the springs settle. Will be going for coilovers soon I think but for now, the springs will do nicely. I didn't use any tiger seal or 3m tape, just the 2 screws when they are and that's it. The fit wasn't bad but I didn't get it from a trader on here, I got it elsewhere as I could only find the one I wanted online. It'll be easier to fit and mold around the bumper if you heat it before fitting, I couldn't do it to mine because it was fibreglass, more risk of cracking with heat.
  11. I'd be up for any of the above meets, all roughly the same distance from me really! Southend would be a laugh though, it'll remind everyone of the younger Max Power cars that used to be around there!
  12. Welcome to the forum buddy, any pics?
  13. Ah, see now that's a place I know of! Shall we all try and organise a meet? I'm sure there will be more Z's from London and Essex that will pop up sooner or later.
  14. Sounds like good fun. If we do eventually have a meet up, will have to try and explore some
  15. Nice one, mine is GT too. Fair play getting one at 20 bud, just turned 25 and thought that was young . Yeah, insurance can be the killer, but to be honest, if paying in one lump will make it tricky. Always the option of monthly payments for both.
  16. Welcome to the forum buddy. Before buying my Z, I was torn between 2 choices of car, S14 200SX, or the Z, after driving a couple of 200sx's, falling in love with the turbo sounds and ride etc, many of them were needing rust treatment straight away, if not very close after the purchase of one. I went to a garage and saw a lonely Night Blue 350Z HR in the corner of the lot gathering dust from the stony forecourt. Sat in the car and instantly fell in love with it, such a simple yet effective interior, all what you need and nothing else, as a sports car should be. Test drove and as much as I enjoyed the 2 litre turbo of the S14, I couldn't say no to that V6 grunt. Went back about 2 days after and signed the papers to get it in my possession. Had it just under a year now and not looked back since, few modifications to make it 'mine'. Sorry, drifted off a bit there! If you can, look for a HR model, later models, cannot speak for everyone, but I have not had any major issues, still pulls like a dream, but my clutch is due for a replacement soon I believe. Any who, if you are interested, I'd say go for it! Hate to use this expression but.....you only live once, so go do it. Keep us updated. Story over. Thanks!
  17. Yeah that makes perfect sense! Any roads you know of round that way? I've been through Colchester but not really driven around to find good roads.
  18. Ah right, the bunker is Kelvedon Hatch right? Just assumed everything was close together haha.
  19. You anywhere near the not so Secret Nuclear Bunker? When I go out for drives, I usually end up around that way, some nice roads there.
  20. I'm near Woodford, Chingford to be precise, be good to meet up with a few of you.
  21. Nice, what are your plans with the coilovers? Slammed or fast road use? Either way, Z's look brilliant lowered. You should feel a difference once that is done, a lot of people swap them for braided lines. Am thinking of getting an uprated clutch soon and lightened flywheel once mine is on the way out, I get the odd juddering when pulling away but not all the time so will wait a little longer. The fitment of mine wasn't too bad, so I only used 2 self tapping screws just on the inside of the wheel arches. Not on the lining but the actual wing, cannot really explain it but if you saw where, you'd know where I mean. It has been fine so far, few scrapes on steep speed humps but that's it, nothing major. Saving up for a new set of wheels now and possible coilovers soon.
  22. Welcome to the forum buddy, love them wheels, suit the car perfectly.
