  1. I saw a blue chrome wrapped A4 estate at silverstone one year, it looked the dogs. A bugger with fingerprints but looked ace. It worked because of the muscular lines of the arches so may have a similar effect on the zed

  2. I know they can do that for brake readings and there is less of a paper trail then. I've heard of place probing a standard 350 to get a modified one through, some kid asked me if I'd do the same. In the end he bought a standard system and got us to fit it for him then put his AM one after it had passed.

  3. The difficulty is the mot station is required by law to keep an emissions print out with the centres copy of the paperwork. Looking the other way wont be enough, theyd have to emissions test another car. I've heard of places doing this and getting away with it, and doing it and getting shut down.

  4. Air can go back in through the end, if you fit a HUUUUGGGEEEEE tail pipe air will go back in and throw out the hydrocarbon reading. Ive seen mot testers stuff a rag in the end before to get it through the emissions. On an mot a combination of eml, major exhaust leak and high hydrocarbon count can be fixed by sorting out the exhaust

  5. I can give you a print out out what an exhaust leak does to the hydrocarbons, its not just the gases leaking out but air going back in, which can trigger the eml and potentially put her limp home mode. But its all undoable when youve run your experiment

  6. OK mate, in a nut shell, short term there will be no harm to the car, it may run a little rough due to back pressure and let in air throwing out your hydrocarbon figure. It will sound different, but not like a aftermarket system. I wouldnt advise running it for longer than a couple of days due to corrosion build up. Dan is dead right, listen to a load of actual systems, im sure youd be welcome along in anyones passenger seat to get a real life experience. Is that a bit more helpful than being roasted? :p

  7. Also an mot failure if its blowing. I know you'd put it back before mot, but you gotta also think its under your car where its wet and salty, and your allowing moisture inside. I admit probably not by much. corrosion build up will make it harder to return to stock.

  8. What would declare them as? No officer these are my watermelon separators I was sick of them rolling round in the boot. Aside of the dangers of the vehicle, I like my zed because of the lack of rear seats. There ate many great '4 sead'coupes but thankfully the zed ain't one.
