Hi, JDM 350z same as UK in terms of wiring etc?
-
I will be up for this however the speedbumps on the way out of the car park are pretty nasty for the lower cars with lips but should be fine
-
Be good for a meet up before Sunday!
-
I'd be in on this but I'm travelling on the Saturday and staying over. Coming from Surrey if anybody else is staying the night before, give me a shout!

# Bradders - Only down for the Saturday
Sorry guys! Had to pull out of this one this time due to a family gathering/holiday being organised.
Will see some of you at japfest next month
-
Already bought the tickets! Oh well, might be interesting
-
Looking good.
Especially like the heat shield on your cone filter ......I'm easily pleased
Thanks! Getting there in the never ending project the air intake is a Mishimoto one, which I prefer to the popular Popcharger

I've already got a list of what I want doing to it and I haven't even got the car ha-ha! I'd have to get the GT pack, I quite like the look of the leather & rays although they'll most likely be swapped for something dished almost immediately. Damn fast & furious has had me obsessed with this car for years.
Just like me then I will say if you buy one with mods, you will save yourself a lot of money! Unless you want the project yourself then go for it! good luck with the search and make sure you post when you get hold of one!

How was the fitting of the decats? What ones did you get?
Love the pops and flames!

Just a bit of general info in case you might not have known (ignore me if you did!)... there are 3 versions of the 350z: DE, Rev-up and HR. Some of the more knowledgeable on the forum may be able to tell you all of the differences but there are pros and cons with all. Pre 06 means £295 road tax instead of £515, but later models have slightly more power and nicer interior trim (in brief).
I'm only 19, so my budget swayed me towards a slightly earlier '54 DE (owned by a 58 year old enthusiast who spent a fair bit on it), but in my opinion history of the vehicle and condition is more important than which type!
Good luck with the hunt
Yeah, 20 here and just got 3 years NCB. Insurance wise isn't much different between DE/HR models it's just the tax. It all comes down to the right price at the moment. It seems to be roughly £1200-1300 for the year on insurance and prices seem to be fairly wild. I've seen what look like clean 60k mile cars for 5k and then 150k mile cars go for 7k. Confusing as hell
I've got 2 years no claims and my renewal is £1500, but oh well have to pay for the privilege of driving something like a Z!
It's difficult just a waiting game, just like buying any car, I'd also say to look for one with some tasteful mods as you'll almost definitely want to modify it! We call it zeditus, it's contagious...
Check out a few cars near to you just to get an idea of what they're like, I would definitely recommend getting a GT for the rays alloys, bigger brembo brakes, LSD, heated leather, cruise control etc.
Just for a comparison: I picked mine up with 67k on the clock for £6800, paid quite a bit but the car is mint and had quite a few tasteful mods and wants for nothing!

Met a guy at the MK meet on Tuesday and he had a new bumper sprayed to match his ginger Z, impeccable match and the other panels/bonnet weren't touched. Can be done!
Booked in for Sunday! My sprayer is good to me, helping out on a Sunday

So back on topic, I genuinely think from your description what you would like is either the Cobra or Miltek with HFCs (if you don't mind rasp)
I'd like an exhaust not covered in fox guts first
Would rather avoid rasp. I like deep rumbles (Subarus / big American V8)
(Not that loud for a daily though )
If you daily your z, I'd recommend the resonated cobra cat back, lovely tone and a few burbles I'd replace the Y pipe too while you're at it.
I'm going decat after MOT though
Good luck with your exhaust adventures, you won't regret getting hold of a decent system!
-
I've got Japspeed front Camber Arms and Eibach rear Camber Arms for the Eibach Springs and they're spot on. Never realised that fronts weren't as important! Love the drop you won't regret going a bit lower

Running japspeed HFCs and full japspeed exhaust, but no ECU light yet (touch wood). Be interesting to know if im running lean or not. Really need to fit the plenum spacer and get it mapped
Very interesting thread this one
How did you find the Japspeed HFC's? I've got a Cobra Resonated with a Japspeed Y Pipe and wanting to add a bit more sound without having mot trouble with decats!
In your opinion, would the HFCs be noticeable and worth the money?
Thanks!
The HFCs will make it noticeable louder, nearly decat levels. You may get through MOTs with them but it entirely depends on how hot you get them. Honestly i wish I'd waited a bit and gotten BERK highflow cats, they have an extra chamber built in to deal with rasp. That's the biggest con so far is how raspy its become while booting it
I Know it's a bit off topic, thanks. Will look out for some Berks as lots of people recommend them, interesting to hear about the Japspeed though .

You'll most certainly have to have the Bonnet and wings blended in as it's very hard to get a colour match. Which will sort that arch rust you have at the same time.
My dad knows a bloke who's done a lot of paintwork for him on some of his cars, so hopefully he will get it sorted and do a good job of it too! Yes bye bye rust

if you are planning to keep your front bumper stock then go for a respray
if you think there might be a lip out there that floats your boat it may well worth getting one before the respray, check on tarmacsportz
my Zed was ginger and I had the Zunsport added on and a GT style front lip in black gloss which at the time I thought it looked good
Would like a nice Nismo V2 Bumper, but I think I might leave that for further down the line for now as I've only had the car on the road for a month!

As some may have seen from my build post...:
http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/113666-so-it-begins-my-new-toy-adviceopinions-appreciated/#entry1709874
...I managed to remove the old damaged front carbon splitter at the weekend... hope I made the right decision... but now I need the bumper resprayed as it decided to pull half the paint off with it
The zed will be going off for the bumper spray ASAP and was wondering if anyone would get it sprayed differently rather than just back to original.
I have seen that some spray the bottom centre part of the bumper black?
Zunsport Grille to go on but I still need some opinions and what to do next , I need some inspiration as I don't see many sunset orange zeds on the forum or about locally!
-
Finally done something about the front carbon lip! I have only been driving the zed just over a month and have found myself scraping the darn thing more and more... so with that, and a great deal of difficulty, I "pulled" it off
In all honesty (some may disagree) I think the front end looks better without the stupid cracked lip!🖒
A trip to the paint shop and then will fit that Zunsport Grille that's sitting in the garage, happy days
