  1. Airbag warning light and ABS warning lights will both immediately fail an MOT.

I suspect the ESP and traction control lights are on due to a fault with the ABS system as its all interlinked. If I was a betting man, I'd wager you have a failed ABS sensor.

I'd highly recommend you get the vehicle scanned or you purchase one of the Bluetooth OBD scanners to give you an idea of where to start. Out of interest, what tyres are you running? If the wheel sizes are massively different from OEM that could be what's fooling the system into think there is a fault with the ABS

Having weighed up opinions here and elsewhere, I've ended up choosing between the Falkens (which I'm actually curious to try anyway, having never fitted a car with them) or going with one of the MPS "family", which I'm familiar with from other cars.

Olly, I gather from your message that you're in the trade - I'd be happy with the F510s, but is the F520 out yet?

For my sins I am in the trade 🤣 not that it counts for much when people rarely seem to listen 🤣 no news on when the F520 is out yet with my supplier, however there seems to be a national tyre shortage as getting new tyres is a massive pain in the arse lately.

I've been happy with the eco falkens fitted to my personal car, girlfriends audi and so on. The Bridgestones fitted to my nismo are wearing low so I'll be looking in the future

Thanks Dave, that's what I was referring to

I tend to service my car yearly and I do about 6k miles

Servicing a car just because the years go by doesn't make sense to me...imagine changing the oil after every 1000 miles....🙄

What about every 2000 miles like mine 🤣

  4. Don't forget that an MOT is only the barest minimum road standard. A tyre at 2mm while not really safe will still pass an MOT. Alot of people get hung up on the fact that a car has passed an MOT its in good condition.

Further compiled that alot of it is up to the individual MOT testers discretion, so what one might pass another might fail and vice versa.

Talking of fences, tyres are the main thing that can stop you going through one

Im with you, money on tyres before anything else. But any good brand be it Falken, Michelin, Continental will all do the job, just dont risk the cheapo melted canoe crap and you will be fine

    This.

We sell plenty of falken tyres to our customers and they are a perfect good choice to go for. Any tyre will let go in the wet or dry if you drive them hard enough.

Certain types of falkens are actually some of the quietest tyres for sale, which let's not lie, a 370z needs all the help it can get with tyre and road noise 😉

  6. I'm not embarrassed by what I've written at all. Full history means full history, way too many people stretch that truth when selling a car. My nismo, 5 out of 5 stamps, 5 invoices, 5 services = full history.

9 out of 18 is not full history. Especially at that price. Working on the service counter its not that unusual for people to do exceptionally low mileage and stick to the schedule to the letter, several customer's come to mind. Just say its not been serviced due to the low mileage, but that doesn't sound good does it 😕

  7. G'day 😁

I'm looking for a complete set of the arch extension mouldings that Nismo 370s come with from factory on all 4 corners ideally in storm white. The previous owner removed mine I assume due to being lowered

I'm also in the market for a cat back exhaust, ideally something branded like an invidia Gemini, or an Ark Grip V2. These are my preferred choice so if anyone has one for sale then please let me know. Must be in reasonable condition though, not interested if it's been battered against the floor!

  8. Echoing Zmans comments that is also the rear anti roll bar which pretty crusty. You might be able to remove it and get it blasted and painted. The anti roll bar end links could also be the cause of the knock

  9. The main reason people put plenum spacers on a DE engine is that the front two cylinders are restricted on airflow due to design in the plenum, it's a natural bottleneck. This is the smart choice if thinking of a remap as you are maximising the gains when paired with supporting mods. DE revup and HR this is refined on so there is no need for a plenum spacer

Spacers range from 5/16th (preferred) and 1 inch. The main issue with spacers is that the strut braces don't tend to fit once fitted as you've raised the plenum.

I would only personally recommend the above Aftermarket manifolds if you have all of the supporting modifications, like intakes, throttle bodies, manifolds, sports cats and exhaust etc to really maximise every horsepower. Even then if you saw a 20-30hp jump I would be surprised, so does the gains outway the cost for you? What you will notice with a remap is the difference in throttle response, it wakes the DE from being a little sluggish to being quite lively

Why? These replace the stock ones.

Not on 350s. Remember they just have the badge and then a clear reflector below. That will need welding up and the badge cutting out!

  12. I doubt very much changing to 5w-40 caused this. I ran 5w-40 in my 350z and now my Nismo for the last 6-7years without any issue.

First step, check oil level. If OK then I strongly suspect that its either the guage itself or the oil pressure sensor which is a common failure on these cars. My buddies 350z did exactly this, would go straight to 120psi and stay there. We got a replacement sensor located on the bottom of the pil pan next to the oil filter and swapped it out. Easy job, just be very careful when you tighten it back up. Steel sensor and aluminium block, you over tighten it you will crack your lower block and that's a bad day.

My rule was finger tight, 1/4 turn on the ratchet and job was a gooden

Sorry to hijack the thread, but while we're all checking for corrosion. I noticed this on mine yesterday while changing out some bulbs for LED ones, rust spots all underneath the weatherstrip in the boot...eek!

What was the outcome to this? I've looked at mine and have exactly this, in exactly the same places. It's caused me to go over with a fine tooth comb and I've not found anything else but want to get this sorted. I have full dealer history so wondering if Nissan will be kind especially as I work for them

  14. Your kit should have come with spacers for the strut brace as well. Check packaging and make sure they've not been sellotaped somewhere and you've missed them.

Failing that, try spacing it with washers or you can run without like I did on mine. Ideally though, it was designed to be there, so be there it should

Olly mate, this post isn’t aimed at you. It’s merely to politely ask people to turn up at an event when they’ve put their name down…unless of course there is a valid reason not to attend.

And should there be a valid reason, to at least have the courtesy to inform the REO.

it was a real shame to see so few turn up at ACE when there were over 20 names on the list.

it not only messes the REO around but also the venue who allowed us to use their premises exclusively for the morning/afternoon.

like I said though mate, this isn’t aimed at you, it’s aimed at all of us on here.

Haven't taken it as being aimed at me Steve, I've just simply put my feelings on the matter across as I'm sure others will. Whatever the outcome I will support the staff's decision because as I said truthfully I wouldn't want to be the one organising these events.
