  1. Definitely Tarmacsportz for me.
  2. Afternoon Bikeracer, Like you this was the first change I considered. I opted for the Motordyne Shockwave cat back exhaust and could not be happier with the sound and quality. It is superb quality, so good I was taking pictures of it on the floor before it went on. The sound is just what I was hoping for, a lovely roar when starting up, followed by a not too loud throaty rumble up to about 3k revs when the tone starts to change from rumble to race car like bellow. There is no cabin boom, fitting was straightforward and the car sounds like it was meant to, certainly a lot more in keeping with the looks. Fuel consumption suffers, but only as I can't stop myself from changing down and driving along in a gear lower than before the exhaust was fitted! Good look with the search, enjoy the car and remember, loud pipes save lives!
  3. Cool looking 350z, red, gold looking wheels......and the owner waved - result!
  4. I will not be going electric any time soon, those Prius are lethal, you walk along the street minding your own business and then you sense a presence behind you, the number of times I have turned round to find a Prius taxi creeping up behind me, most disconcerting. No, loud pipes are the perfect road safety tool for galvanising sheep like pedestrians in to action, or if one is in the country, alerting muntjacs to your presence. Imagine driving everywhere in an electric car, you would need bull-bars like those on an Australian road train truck to avoid your radiator being littered with limbs and road kill. I have to say though that video of the stripped out Tesla out-dragging American muscle cars is eerily impressive. Anyway the Nissan is positively civilised compared to a Caterham I had as a daily driver, its side exit exhaust would set off the alarms of cars parked at the side of the road, which was really impressive, and you don't even burn yourself.......blimey, I have gone soft!
  5. Finally, the Motordyne exhaust I ordered arrived and has been fitted and I just had to post to say how impressed I am with the quality and sound of the exhaust. The fitters and I were drooling over the welds etc, even taking pictures of it looking all shiny before it went on. Not sure about the blued tips though as I had originally opted for the straight cut rolled steel tips, but that is another story. I went for the cat back Motordyne Shockwave system on a MkII Nismo and the sound is gorgeous, a low burbling on tick over, civilised and not hugely different to the standard exhaust when cruising and then a fantastic growl rising to a wail under load. The standard Nismo exhaust is good quality (and if anyone would like it cheap do let me know) but there is no comparison when it comes to the sound. On the very first day of fitting I received the formal seal of approval as one of Cambridge's notoriously opinionated, fascist cyclists waved their fist at me as I went past....and that was at 20mph, oh and the kettle was on before I had driven in to the drive - win and win! The exhaust seems to have had a disastrous effect on the fuel economy though as I cannot resist accelerating harder just to hear the noise and seem to be driving everywhere in a gear lower than previously. I know everyone says this, but it really does transform the nature of the car, even my wife approved, although I then ruined the mood by informing her that this was indeed a keeper of a car, to which she just disparagingly raised her eyebrows. To be fair she has heard that proclaimed numerous times before........but this time I think I mean it! Remember what they say, Loud pipes save lives!
  6. Beautiful looking car. I also took the front number plate holder off and put a slightly narrower plate on screwing the plate directly into the existing, metal reinforced holes. Removing the ugly front holder really tidies up the grill area and reveals the grill line. I am already looking forward to reading about your upgrades :-)
  7. Thanks for the reply Marcus, I may look them up when I can finally decide which exhaust to go for.....decisions, decisions!
  8. I would like to change the exhaust on my 370z Nismo and wondered if anyone has any recommendation for a garage in the Cambs/Suffolk area who they trust and will do a thorough job? Reading through the exhaust related posts there seems to have been many members who have experienced alignment issues or things coming undone etc so a recommendation would be much appreciated.
  9. I must be going mad but I am sure that I saw on 17th September there was a Z day at Ace Cafe but It seems to have been cancelled or removed from the events. Can someone let me know if it has been cancelled or do I have to conclude that I have indeed gone mad! Many thanks
  10. I had an Abarth 595 Competizione for a couple of years and it was great fun and faultless (well almost faultless, it did have its instrument binnacle replaced under warranty). With the Sabelt seats and the Monza exhaust, which made entertaining, loud bangs which sounded like gunshots when accelerating hard (and indeed came with a certificate written in Italian to prove the exhaust was road legal just in case someone thought otherwise), it was brilliant on tight, twisty roads.
  11. It was second hand, but looked like new when I bought it from them. I traded in a car and they were fair and straightforward to deal with, even going the extra mile when my own insurer seemed to be having technical details resulting in a delay in the switching over of the insurance cover, they offered to cover it on their own insurance to enable me to get home with some cover in place. That was much appreciated.
  12. Thank you for the welcoming messages. I have attached a picture of the car below. Perhaps I will bump in to some of you at the up-coming Z day at Ace Cafe?
  13. I am a new member and owner and just wanted to introduce myself and also a thank you to all the contributors, as it was your forum posts and knowledge that ultimately resulted in my purchase of a 370Z (although the Hoonigan video on Youtube of the white and red Nismo's drifting around the deserted LA mall probably was the real turning point to be honest). So I am achieving all sorts of firsts: my first real post; my first on-line car forum; my first Nissan. I have to say I love the car, a 2015 Nismo, and it was worth the round trip to Scotland from Suffolk to collect it. The drive back was memorable, both for stunning views and rain of biblical proportions, but also for the effortless, turbine like torque and the feeling of driving something just that little bit different. *Border reivers were raiders along the Anglo-Scottish border from the late 13th century to the beginning of the 17th century. Their ranks consisted of both Scottish and English families, and they raided the entire border country without regard to their victims' nationality.
  14. Hi Formatzero I used them recently, I purchased my 370Z from them, and I have to say I found them some of the most helpful people I have ever had dealings with and the whole business was smooth and efficient. I would highly recommend them, although I have not used the Service side of things.
