A few of the guys on the forum have lowered theirs and they look mean as hell and I love the look but due to the roads I drive on and live around I can't get away with lowering it. I have the same issue with the Zed, I think it would look mint if I wound the coil-overs down a bit but its just not practical for the routes I drive.

Cheers guys, I love the overall performance of these things. Yes they arent ever going to win the numbers war on the dyno and yes the Evo's will always be more tunable etc but they are the ultimate sleeper. I took my 20yr old muddy estate car to Santa Pod a few years back while Japfest was on and got tons of runs in and the only cars that beat my times that day were the ones that turned up on the back of trailers! Granted alot of jap cars were at japfest and not santa pod but it was still a good feeling running against Mustang GT's and AC Cobras and wiping the floor with them.I even pipped a road legal Skyline gtst to 3rd spot in the V6 table (there was some sort of competition running that weekend). One of the best things about these though is the sheer amount of space in the back! You can fit a double mattress in the boot with the back seats folded down just nicely so no need for a caravan....or a hotel room

Hey guys, Just thought I would post up a quick thread with reference to my Mitsubishi Legnum VR-4. My VR-4 ownership started back in 2011 when I purchased my first one. For those that do not know the Legnum's or VR-4's they are basically a Mitsubishi Galant. They were only released in Japan and were never released in any other country hence you dont see many round. The estate versions were badged in Japan as Legnum. The engines released over here only went up to a 2.5 V6 NA and only front wheel drive. The VR-4's were only released in Japan and had a 6A13TT engine. This was a 2.5 V6 Twin Turbo lump pushing out 276bhp. (The early models had 260bhp). These were also complimented with an AWD system and the AYC (Active Yaw COntrol) system that we now find on the EVO's. In fact there are many parts that are interchangeable with the EVO's (4-8 most commonly and certain parts from 9 and 10). In estate form these things are an absolute beast, weighing in at around only 100kg's more than the 350Z they can make it down the 1/4 in 14.7 seconds stock and at 18yrs old! A slight increase of boost can see these times reduced to low 14's and with uprated intercooler, panel filters, exhaust and stainless downpipes these can easily drop down to 13.6 seconds. I ran a 13.6 without the ECU being fully mapped and power output was around 302bhp but after fettling with the stock ECU you can see 340bhp and these times will be lowered once again. Due to the AYC and the AWD these cars are not just handy in a straight line. The speeds you can carry through corners are insane and when you feel the back end letting go you simply point the front wheels toward the exit of the corner and floor the throttle. The AYC does its thing as the back end wiggles to get itself straightened up and then it unleashes the power to all wheels and you get catapulted out the corner and the feeling is something else indeed. Anyway enough write up, Im sure you all just skipped that anyway and are bored as hell so here are the pics: First car I bought and how she sat at the time: I had a few iterations of wheels etc so here are some during: Upgraded the brakes to Brembos off an Evo 8 and had to change the wheels, bought a facelift bonnet (more Aggressive) already wrapped in Satin Anthracite and liked it so matched the wheels to it and had the Brembos refurbed and colour matched to the car. The bottom end on the original engine went so replaced that This is how she ended up: I took her to Santa Pod not so long after I got her in fairly standard form and was up against a gorgeous RX-7. Thought I would get annihilated but not only did I beat him off the line I beat him over the 1/4 mile by about 0.5 seconds. He swiftly approached me to see what the hell I had under the bonnet: Anyway a few years later and a little rust in the usual spots had appeared. I saved a 2nd VR-4 from the scrappy and the bodywork was in cracking condition (been garaged for the previous 6yrs) Owner was getting rid due to back problems and not being able to work on it himself he couldnt afford to pay someone for the maintenance. I picked it up at a bargain price as the MEOT had run out and needed a few bits doing to get it to pass. Took it back, changed a wheel bearing and it sailed through the MOT. I told the seller and he nearly cried and I felt guilty that I only paid £800 for it!. This is how she looked when I bought her: And here is how she looks now: Took this one to both Japfest and Japshow in 2015: My dad is also on his 2nd VR-4 after the cambelt snapped on his first and destroyed the engine. Here is part of our driveway, its the most powerful driveway in the village with 3x 2.5 TT VR-4's, 1x 3.2 Porsche Cayenne, 1x 2.0 Audi A4, 1x 350Z, 1x BMW 118d, 1x 1.4 Renault Scenic and 1x 2.0 Renault Scenic. Thats alot of cylinders! 5 of those cars are mine: Those of you with beady eyes will recognise I migrated some of the bits from the purple VR-4 over to the silver one. The reason being when I checked it out the rust on the purple one was setting in nicely and the silver one was immaculate. I decided that I felt too guilty simply getting the silver one back on the road and selling it for a huge profit (huge as far as VR-4 sales go). So I decided to make the decision that the purple one would become a donor to get the silver one on the go and I would simply keep the silver one. Shortly after Japshow 2015 the gearbox went tits on me. The engine also developed a small water/coolant leak. I then decided that the engine I had put in the purple one would go straight into the silver as that engine had been fully rebuilt (not forged) and had anly covered 5k miles. The gearbox in the purple one had also not long been rebuilt due to an issue. This would also get swapped over (far easier to swap the whole lot in one go than the gearbox immediately then potentially the engine later on. At this point in time the silver one is off the road still. Due to not having much time due to family and work I dont get much chance to work on either of the cars to swap bits over. Also both cars being 140 miles apart doesnt help. I do miss the VR-4 so will be getting the silver one transported to Northampton and paying a garage to swap the engine and gearbox over. Funds will probably allow this some time after Christmas as I am replacing a ton of parts such as all rubber coolant hoses, all turbo/intake pipework, rocker cover gaskets and plug seals along with cambelt kit and water pump, all auxiliary belts etc etc. Once the engine is dropped back in I shall take it to be set up on a dyno to make sure she is running healthy, if she is then remap the stock ECU and hopefully be back to 340bhp. The future may then hold a twin TD04 upgrade but as the car never hit the tuning market there are no bolt on kits and everything is bespoke meaning its a very costly upgrade. Anyway I have waffled on far too much so will bring this ridiculously long post to a close. Thanks for your patience if you managed to read this far

Hey guys and gals, up for sale is a set of rimblades from Olly's group buy. They are in black and are great for covering up signs of kerbing and protecting your alloys from further damage. Only reason for selling is due to buying 2 sets as I wasnt sure if the orange set would look good. I put the orange set on my wheels today and very happy with them so offering the black set up to anyone who missed the group buy. Comes in one complete reel and was enough for me to do all 4 of my 19" rims with enough left over to do a complete 5th wheel. The only thing they are missing is the alcohol wipes as I used them all on mine but the bottle of primer adhesive is unused and included. Same price as the group buy £10 delivered.

Noticed that my rear speakers were crap when the volume was turned up, even a little bit. Ended up buying a pair of speakers to swap them with. The fronts were already done and are some kind of Kenwood model with Alpine tweeters and crossover etc. (these will get swapped out at some point but not a priority). The rears however were still stock. I had a look at a few and ended up buying a cheap set for 2 reasons. 1) I am no longer 18 and my requirement is not award winning sound at ridiculous levels. 2) The speakers and the covers are an anodised orange colour so fit with the colour scheme of my car. I went for 6.5" Edge ED306's: Whilst I was there I upgraded all the speaker wiring with proper speaker wire and refitted the lot as there was twisted wires and joins everywhere covered with electrical tape, so was a bit of a mess. I refitted everything direct to the amp and finally got round to setting the amp up correctly and now the sound is fantastic. Still got the factory Bose sub and its doing a great job. As I say Im not after award winning sound or crisp perfect sound at stupid volumes. For the volume I have it on the sound is perfect across the range with no distortion and great bass level. Might look to upgrade the fronts purely for continuity and having the same brand throughout but in no rush.

Olly, got mine fitted today, went with the orange and I love it. Think it looks fantastic and covers up the kerbing on these really well so I dont need to rush into refurbishing them now as it no longer lets the look of the car down. Here are a few pics. Feel free to send any of these pictures to your guy for use in his portfolio. Thanks again for the sorting out this group buy. Probably the best mod I have done for £10

Hmm yeah I think I will try the orange first. The orange will definitely look fantastic on your car Olly!

Hi guys, kind of forgot I posted this to be honest. Thanks for the offer Alex but I had some hardboard and some black felt left over from making my parcel shelf so just cut the right shape out and covered it up and now Im golden. I was looking but could only find the bluetooth units or the entire centre consoles for sale and all I really needed was a cover for the holes. Thanks anyway for all the comments guys.

Hopefully get mine fitted tomorrow if the weather permits. If I do I will post some pics up straight away Question is do I go for the orange or black to start with??

Popped out to the alleged 'Oldest pub in Wales' The Skirrid Inn. Those that are from the area may know the history behind the pub and I wont go into it in detail but it is alleged that it is the oldest pub in Wales believed to have been built in the 1110, however this has been called into question several times. I suppose none of us will ever really know when the building was first built as none of us were around then. It was however used as a court of law and those sentenced to death were hanged from an Oak beam in the stairway. The beam itself still bares the scars of the ropes as they swung back and fourth. It is said to have taken around 15 minutes for people to die due to the thickness of rope used for the noose. Very grim indeed. Evidence also suggests that as many as 182 people were hanged in this very stairwell. The Skirrid Inn is still a fully functional pub to this day and myself and a friend have visited a few times. We ate there for the first time tonight and the food was very good. Definitely feel ready for bed now. Anyway while I was there I could not pass on a photo opportunity with the Zed!! The picture quality is not great as it was taken on my phone and there is not a ghost in the window of my car it was my friend moving his head as I took the picture. I will try to get a better camera involved and head back there for some better day and night pics but for now here she is: Anyway for those would like to know more just google it and there is a wealth of info about it. It features as one of Britain's most haunted pubs. Now I am a very sceptical person and don't really tend to believe in ghosts etc but as you drive down that road at night in the dark it feels very eerie indeed. Being inside is also a little eerie but I have never ventured up the stairs where it is supposed to be haunted most as the courtroom and holding cells were in the rooms up there. You can see the rope burns from the bottom of the stairs though which is a little freaky. It has also featured on Extreme Ghost Stories Season 1 Episode 1 for those that are interested. Anyway if nothing else just enjoy a picture of a Zed outside a pub at night lol

Yes mate that is correct. Im not sure if they are standard clear US lenses or if they are standard UK lenses that have had the red filter removed. Either way the fitment was perfect. Ill PM you my paypal. -
Looking good buddy! Love those wheels on there. Cant wait to see some daylight shots of them. I found that my Zed didnt even have a standard jack in it. Looking at the Chargespeed side skirts the previous owner(s) probably got rid of it as it didnt fit underneath the skirts. I did however find the jack from my Legnum VR-4 fits underneath the skirts just fine and is perfectly shaped to the jacking point. Good ole Japs and their interoperability

Im sorry Oliver, but I had to laugh As I say the lights are not in Northants at the moment but again you can either wait until 7th Oct when Im back in the area and will have them with me or I can post them on Monday. -
Hi guys, ever since I bought my Zed Ive its been bugging me as to what the hole in the centre console cubby is for. I have attached a couple of pics below to help you understand what I am referring to. Basically in the 1st picture is the bottom of the cubby underneath the arm rest. Is there supposed to be a piece of plastic that covers this hole up? The 2nd picture shows a piece of plastic that sits inside this and looks like a false floor of some sort. Again this has a hole in it but the floor does not block the first hole. Does anyone know if this is supposed to be here and what its for?? Also would love to know if there is a cover that clips on that I can purchase from Nissan as I can only put large objects in here otherwise I lose things down the hole. I normally keep spare change for parking/trolleys in these types of cubbys but I cannot due to the hole. Thanks in advance for any information that solves this mystery. P.S. please be kind, it may seem like a stupid question but I have never owned a Zed before so no idea what a stock centre console looks like.

£45 collected? Only issue being the lights are currently in a box in Hereford. I'm heading back there tomorrow but wont be back in Northampton until Friday 7th Oct. If you are happy to send funds now and wait until 7th to collect then I will get the thread closed. I could also post them on Monday if you wanted them sooner. -
I think the blue suits the car more. Bit of a guilty pleasure lol
-
Ooh any of these had the VR-4 conversion done that you know of?
-
Made me chuckle. There is a thread from another forum somewhere with a big debate about the spelling of tyre and some American was abusing the Brits for destroying the English language by changing the words. A fellow American soon highlighted the fact that its the English language and it was them (the Americans) that made up their own spellings. Ill have to try and find it as its quite comical.
-
I must say when I saw you had put down purple I was unsure how it would look against the blue car. Having now seen them fitted it looks great, I find myself comparing it to the rest of the wheel instead of the car and I like it, good choice. Cant wait to get mine fitted now although Im not sure the orange will look good hence going for the black aswell haha
