Just out of interest, would anyone not bother looking at a car if it was advertised as having no service history?

I only ask as i bought mine with a few receipts but no service book. Its a 2002 import with 70k on it. Its tidy and ive done servicing, clutches, tyres ect myself but it worries me that ill have a hard time selling it if i needed to!

I did put some silicone sealant around the plastic welds as a precaution but its obviously not worked

Has anyone suffered with water ingress into theres? Mine are fitted and seem to be collecting water 😬

I've not but then I've only been out in the dry since fitting. I know Hodaka had a water ingress problem with one of his.

Did he? I use mine as a daily so its been through alot but the water doesn't seem to be getting worse.

Im wondering if its condensation from the exhaust?

Ive got the same issue only im used to it now but the Missus isnt and comments on the smell every time she gets in.

I stripped the car down (didnt find any green) and found a custom built sub wedged under the boot floor behind the drivers seat and one of those "insure a box" things that was quickly removed!

Been stopped once for doing 104mph average over a 1/4 mile and was let off with 3pts. Massive brownie points for the copper that day.

i have one of these and i think its the absolute dogs. it gets hot really quick and it gets a really good temperature aswell. thoroughly recommended.

 

Also it has a little exhaust hole on the side of the tip which is perfect for heat shrink

Has anybody on here got any recommendations for a decent dremel kit and a gas soldering kit that won't break the bank or fall apart on me?

Wouldn't this affect the structural integrity massively?

I fitted a pioneer SPH-da 120 in my 02 JDM import non Bose and I had to swap some of the wires around to get it to power up.

It was confusing because the previous aftermarket pioneer worked fine!

I ended up using a power probe to identify lives / earths.

Nightmare!

This is why there should be parking spaces like disabled or parent and child bays especially for people who care about there paintwork!

Maybe a bay with a huge Z in it?

To be honest I'm quite impressed with it still, I can't think of any reasons not to like it.

If it had DAB without having to utilise car play or app radio it would be perfect for me.

It's easily hidden under the centre console tho, I used a dremel to make a neat hole in the underside of the centre cubbyhole and secured the USB so it doesn't look messy

I looked at getting the AVH but I was drawn to the SPH because of the "car play" functionality.

Apart from the CD / DVD functions the SPH can do most of the same using car play and app radio so I suppose it's down to what phone handset your using?

I'll get some snaps of it tomorrow in the day light.

Im an iphone man so thinking yeah carplay is nice, does the navmii app work on this too via carplay?? Thanks, looking forward to seeing it in the car!!

I don't think it dose in car play mode, I believe there's a lot more apps available to use through app radio mode tho and I haven't got round to getting the right cable for that yet.

In car play mode it has the standard Apple maps which aren't bad. Having Spotify and tune in radio on there is good tho, gives you the dab stations and endless amounts of playlists to pick from.

Ive got the xtreme clutch kit from clark motorsport, lightened solid flywheel with a organic friction plate and an xtreme clutch cover.

It feels alot better than the OEM kit, more responsive in some ways.

As for the noise, it is noticeable but only at low speeds, if you have any sort of sporty exhaust or intake, they drown it out.

Im quite fussy about noises on my car but i have to say it really doesn't bother me at all.

The pros outweigh the cons for me.

How do you get the HU to only display the reverse image when its in reverse.

Its either on all the time (obviously with no image driving forward) or off and not functioning in reverse!
